SAPA Transmission: The Current Future of Military Mobility

Shelby Township, Mich., SAPA Transmission has been a partner of the U.S. Army since the country’s independence. 300 Spanish muskets were sent to the Massachusets Regime. Blue and white cloth uniforms, Quinine and blankets were sent to George Washington’s troops at Valley Forge. Two weapon consignments of over 12,000 muskets each were also sent to aid The Connental Army which would later become the Army of the United States.

As an affiliate of a European defense contractor, SAPA Transmission incorporated itself in the United States with a commitment to heavy vehicle mobility, using advanced world-leading technology that SAPA developed over the course of 20 years, to bring a soluon to the future of combat mobility needs. SAPA absorbed the burden of developing this revoluonary technology, to bring an advanced combat transmission from the future, today. Headquartered in Shelby Township, Michigan, SAPA is rapidly expanding its domesc presence, dedicated to fostering an American-owned enterprise. This iniave underscores SAPA’s focus on culvang a robust company in the USA, backed by the strength of its European associate.

SAPA’s revoluonary Advanced Combat Transmissions (ACT) integrates contemporary systems with nextgeneraon combat soluons. Their flagship models, ACT1075, ACT850 and SW624 serve as a powerhouse for tracked and wheeled military vehicles. With 90% efficiency, minimum rao spread of 20, 30% less fuel needs, less emissions, drive-by-wire technology and over 94% efficiency low cooling demand, there is no situaon or applicaon SAPA’s Advanced Transmissions can’t handle.

Efficiency remains central to SAPA’s approach, exemplified by their streamlined design featuring no torque converter and 32 forward and reverse gears. This not only achieves a notable 30% reducon in fuel consumpon but also enhances performance and durability, while providing room for future modernizaon. Its hybrid-ready architecture supports versality across energy sources, incorporang dual power inputs and standardized mobility arrangements that can be adapted to various plaorms. From parts to maintenance to operaon, SAPA ACT ensures seamless integraon, partnering with organizaons on a local and federal level and outsourcing over 15,000 American parts to deliver robust results for all armored vehicles. These oponally manned setups are proven autonomous, ulizing total remote drive-by-wire technologies and undergoing rigorous tesng by the U.S. Army in vehicles such as M1 Abrams, Bradley M2 and AMPV Chassis.

As SAPA Transmission advances, it promises to redefine standards in mobility, reinforcing the Army’s capabilies and strategic readiness on a global scale.
