OLE MISS NOTABLES • Ole Miss is hosting No. 24 LSU this week in its final SEC home series of the year. • Ole Miss will recognize two of its six seniors prior to each game of the series. RT Cantillo and Shelby Jo Fenter will go Friday, Carly Hummel and Londen Ladner will be recognized Saturday, and Natalie Nimmo and Marina Parra will be honored Sunday. • Cantillo was selected in the fifth round (20th overall) of the NPF College Draft by the Chicago Bandits on March 31. • Cantillo is second in the SEC in batting average (.446) and has recorded a hit in 35 of 42 games played this season. • Hummel, Fenter and Madi Osias combined to throw a no-hitter (one walk) in a 3-0 win over Louisiana Tech (3/19). The trio combined to retire the first 19 batters in order. It was the first combined no-hitter in school history. • Hummel was named the SEC Pitcher of the Week on March 10, becoming the first Rebel to win the award since 2009. • Hummel threw the first perfect game in school history vs. Utah State (3/3), and followed that performance with a three-hit, complete game shutout victory at No. 1 Florida. Hummel struck out 12 batters in each game. • Ole Miss’ win at No. 1 Florida was its first over a No. 1 ranked team since 2007. • For the second straight year, Ole Miss went 5-0 en route to winning the Red and Blue Classic.
