Hi Volunteers,
Volunteer The
Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Old West Museum’s Volunteer Newsletter
Happy New Year! I am looking forward to a very blessed and abundant 2025! It was so fun to see all of you at the Volunteer Luncheon. We are truly lucky to have such a large group of dedicated volunteers. The East High Singers stole the show with wonderful entertainment. Thank you, Red Lion, for hosting and making a delicious meal. We were extremely impressed with the turnout of almost 80 people! Thanks for celebrating with us.
As we prepare for a new year, we are excited to welcome a few new events that we think you will really enjoy this year including a Wine Night with Vintages, Trivia Night at the Museum, and Country Dance Lessons with Dinner! Wine Night with Vintages will bring Vintage’s delicious wine allowing guests to taste different wines and explore our exhibits. Food of course will be served too. Trivia Night will have a special round dedicated to Cheyenne Frontier Day™ history and the winners will not only walk away with money, but a traveling trophy they get to display until next year winners are announced.
These events aren’t just about fun—they’re an opportunity to get more people into our Museum and share our rich history in an engaging way. Spread the word and bring your friends
We’re also looking for talented bakers to contribute elegant desserts for our Trivia Night's dessert auction. Email josie.molloy@oldwestmuseum.org Or call 307-778-1416
If baking isn’t your thing, store-bought fresh desserts are more than welcome, just make sure they are elegant and can serve at least eight people.
Please also save the date for our upcoming Western Spirit Art Show on March 8! A night you don’t want to miss. We are very excited this year - we will be featuring two LCCC students!
In addition to these exciting events, we have some new exhibits in the works that will offer a deeper dive into the history of Cheyenne Frontier Days™. In the next few months, you will start seeing the transformation. Some of the new exhibits that will be popping up include one showcasing past Miss Frontier outfits, exhibits featuring CFD committees including Rodeo and Concessions. I know our Docents will greatly appreciate this new display!
If you have not been in the Museum in the last month, please stop by as we are temporarily hosting the stunning bronze statue, Volunteers: The Heart and Soul of Cheyenne Frontier Days™ by artist Joel Turner. This beautiful piece celebrates the dedicated volunteers who make Cheyenne Frontier Days™ possible. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the generous donors: Del and Suzan Peterson, Scott and Kaye Binning, Jo Ferguson in Honor of Jack, John and Kathy Steil, Jim and Peggy Hearne, Jerry and Kay Jessen, Jenny Sherman in Honor of Dick, Ken and Carolyn McCann, Kurt and Vickie Peth, Doc and Karen Schroeder, and Col. Tal Gerringer and Betsy Gusea-Gerringer.
2025 is shaping up to be an amazing year, and we are so grateful to have you all as part of our Museum family.
