LIVE MUSIC OUTDOORS OFF-THE-CHARTS FUN

OFF-THE-CHARTS FUN MAY SOUND LIKE AN EXAGGERATION, BUT THOSE WHO GOT TO BOOGIE WITH BECK AND PHOENIX ON THEIR MAGICAL ODYSSEY OR LAUGH WITH JAMES TAYLOR WHO WAS ENJOYING HIS SET SO MUCH HE QUESTIONED THE PURPOSE OF AN INTERMISSION, BEG TO DIFFER. So far this season we have witnessed the frenzied admiration of boygenius fans, reunited with the electric soul of Trombone Shorty and belted out “This Tornado Loves You” with Neko Case as the sun tucked itself behind the Cascades. No, we’re not trying to give you FOMO, this is a reminder that there is still time to come down and catch a show!

From the heart pumping electronic violin anthems of Lindsey Stirling and heavy-hitting 80s hits with Rick Springfield, to kids pop phenoms KIDZ BOP, Jelly Roll’s southern country swagger and quasi-nostalgic alternative rocker Counting Crows – this fall’s lineup is expansive and stellar. Pair that with free parking, VIP seat options, and an innovative lineup of Central Oregon’s top food carts like Masa Empanada, Fresco and Fryed, and ZydeGO accentuated with some of Bend’s best craft beer, cocktails and wine on hand, and you’ve got your recipe for offthe-charts fun.

The locally owned Hayden Homes Amphitheater has been bringing world-class music to Bend since 2002. The amphitheater is Oregon’s largest outdoor venue accommodating up to 8,000 concertgoers on a grassy infield -- a spectacular space to come together in community in support of live music and top-notch musicians. Our local crew of more than 600 seasonal employees share this sentiment, and we’re grateful for their help in creating musical moments and memories that last a lifetime as well as the opportunity to see inspirational icons like the ones above.

The circumstances surrounding the creation of The Lumineers’ fourth album, “BRIGHTSIDE” were unlike anything Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites had previously experienced in their nearly two decades of making music together. They were five months into a projected two-year tour behind their 2019 album, “III,” with no plans to start work on another LP, when the pandemic forced them off the road in March 2020. That gut punch occurred as Fraites was preparing to relocate from Denver to his wife’s hometown in Italy, where COVID-19 was running rampant. Suddenly, everything was up in the air. But finding themselves with time on their hands, they figured they might as well make use of it. Each wound up recording a solo album—“accidentally,” Schultz jokes—and those spontaneous side trips inspired them to flip the script on their collaborative creative process.
