MISSION Our Lady of the Assumption School, an education ministry of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Community, is a parish-based JK-8 grade Catholic Elementary School.

Our Lady of the Assumption School provides an education for children who incorporate strong academic skills, social awareness, personal responsibility, ethical, and moral values as taught in the Catholic faith.  The School administration and faculty, in collaboration with parents, promote a learning environment, which fosters academic excellence, integrity, cooperation, and mutual respect.

Catholic parents and teachers know and understand the complex bonds that link faith and education, and that our actions and words reach beyond just our personal needs and wants. OLA School is forming and preparing children who will serve as the parents, teachers and leaders in tomorrow’s world.

I am proud to have served in this ministry for two decades.

OLA is truly a second home, where everyone can flourish and grow, be inspired in faith, finding hope and joy in what they do, and in each other. I am blessed to know these students, teachers, staff and parents, and I believe in the development of each individual to know their unique value and purpose. We are chosen, gifted and beloved, and are the people in whom the hope and joy of God’s spirit is real.

EXCELLENCE CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION With ongoing financial support of our technology program, the OLA Parent Faculty Association has provided significant funding for upgrades over the years. As the school has continued to value the use of technology in instruction, the addition of the C3: Ignite iPad program has taken the students learning environment to the next level.

The OLA sports program has a long standing reputation of being robust, successful, and skill building. 2018 we finished strong and 2019 is on pace for another top finish. STEWARDSHIP PARISH CAPITAL CAMPAIGN While it’s our people that account for the strength of our parish, we recognize that our church’s buildings and campus play a vital role and greatly support our mission and ministry. As our parish has continued to grow, our campus has served us well. However, we continue to face substantial deferred maintenance that now must be tackled more intentionally to meet the needs of our active community.

Our last major construction projects occurred between 50 and 60 years ago. As one parishioner put it, “We need a 50-year remodel.” Renovations to the OLA campus will be made in several phrases by priority: Church, Auditorium, Office Consolidation, Former Rectory Building, Former Convent Building.

It's a sacrifice, but it'll be worth it!

STEWARDSHIP FINANCE REPORT

FISCAL YEAR 2018 EXPENSES & DISTRIBUTION

OLA School maintains a balanced budget from year to year with oversight and collaboration with the Parish Finance Council, Pastor, Department of Catholic Schools, and the Principal.

OLA is committed to supporting families on their journey through Catholic schools.

Financial assistance is provided through the Catholic Education Foundation and Finance Council approved on site awards. Parent Faculty Association fundraisers have funded major improvements to the function and access to technology in the classrooms.
