Bonny (Weeks) Downs went on to study acting and dramatic theory at Southwest Missouri State University after her graduation from OC. She is the founder of Bon Lee Studios and serves as production director of a new Oklahoma independent theatre, Actors Company of Tulsa. CHAIN EARNS PRESTIGIOUS HONOR Ralph Chain, former chair of Oklahoma Christian University’s Board of Trustees, was inducted into the Hall of Great Westerners at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Induction into the hall honors individuals who promote America’s rich Western heritage through leadership and patronage of art, business, industry, environmental, education, humanitarian, government or philanthropic organizations. He owns Chain Land and Cattle Company, which consists of ranches in Oklahoma and Kansas. His commitment to raising the finest livestock and improving and preserving the land has netted him national recognition and many awards, including induction into the Oklahoma Agriculture Hall of Fame. Chain managed a ranch operation that was a $6.8 million gift to Oklahoma Christian from the late William Guy Davisson in 1977. He managed the ranch property for 14 years. Eventually, the ranching operation was sold, and Chain turned his attention to more traditional university business. He served as OC Board Chair from 1997 to 2002. He has served in many leadership capacities on the Board of Trustees for more than 30 years. He and his wife Darla are longtime friends of the university.
