On behalf of the entire editorial team, I am honored to extend our warmest congratulations to our beloved church on its 40th anniversary! Under the inspiring theme, "The Vision Continues: Today, Tomorrow, Together," we celebrate four decades of faithful service, unwavering commitment, and unconditional love. From humble beginnings to the present day, our church has remained steadfast in its mission to spread the Gospel, nurture spiritual growth, and serve our community of Lacovia and its environs. As we reflect on our rich history, we also look forward to the exciting possibilities that the future holds because with God all things are possible. We honor the pioneers who paved the way for us, and we celebrate the generations that have grown up within our walls. This milestone anniversary is a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, resilience and community. May we continue to walk together in love, unity, and purpose, as we strive to fulfill the vision that God has entrusted to us. Happy 40th Anniversary!

“Where there is no VISION, the people perish…”

It is with great joy that I greet and welcome you to our 40th Anniversary, yes you heard it right! Lacovia Vision Deliverance Centre in the heart of Lacovia, with Lacovia in its heart, celebrates 40 years under the theme: The Vision Continues Today, Tomorrow, Together. Over the past 40 years we have watched the vision grow from a mustard seed to an oak tree. This great achievement cannot be credited to any one person, but as a team we have worked together as Nehemiah 4 vs 6 states “so built we the wall; an together unto the half thereof for the people had a mind to work.

To God be the glory, who kept us over these years in spite of the many setbacks. There is one vital lesson we have learnt, “to every setback there is a comeback.” It is my prayer today, tomorrow, together as we continue this journey, that God will bless us indeed with his all-inclusive blessings. May He enlarge our coast as we look ahead and help us to see the bright future coming towards us and grant us space to receive it. May He keep his mighty hand on us that we may not be distracted; but together we maintain our mission, knowing as Proverb 29:18 states “Where there is no vision the people perish”.

THE DELIVERANCE EVANGELISTIC ASSOCIATION INC.

“Let all the earth fear the LORD: Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast." (Psalm 33:8-9)

Congratulations to The Vision Deliverance Centre on forty (40) years of dedicated hard work, progress, and sterling impact on the Lacovia and adjoining communities. It is a unique honour to greet Bishop Dr. Eulic Kelly, Minister Yonette Kelly, and the Saints for their dedicated service to the Lord and ongoing support for kingdom development.

We are cognizant that 40 years on any journey is a long time, and the congregation undoubtedly have weathered many storms and fought numerous battles along the way, but God's hands have guided and established their path.

Your theme, "The Vision Continues: Today. Tomorrow. Together." serves a dual purpose of reflecting on God's goodness, faithfulness, and how He has turned the struggles into stepping stones and blessings. It also challenges everyone to move forward with confidence, knowing that they serve the Creator of the universe, who is still able to speak, and it shall be accomplished.

As you along with the assembly, celebrate God's generosity and greatness, may He reinvigorate the passion to pursue the vision He has entrusted to you all. May you also continue to be a powerful channel of His incredible power, transforming lives and bringing the lost and dying into His Kingdom.

On behalf of The Deliverance Evangelistic Association Inc. Churches throughout Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Canada and The United States of America, congratulations once again!!!

Congratulations to Bishop Dr. Eulic and Minister Yonette Kelly, the Ministerial Board and Members of the Vision Deliverance Centre on this momentous occasion of 40 years of service to the body of Christ, as the assembly celebrates under the theme "The Vision Continues: Today. Tomorrow. Together."

The congregants have come a long way trusting in the Lord despite many treacherous oppositions, dangers, toils, and snares. Consequently, the Church is positioned as a ‘Beacon of Excellence’ in Lacovia and its surrounding areas.

God has graciously blessed you all and given you a platform in the community. Continue to use that voice to speak out against injustice, to defend the rights of the poor and needy, rescue the perishing and bring hope and healing to those who are hurting. This epitomises God's character: that you are a testament to Jesus Christ, demonstrating His faithfulness and sustaining power.

Today, I take a moment to thank and honour the Almighty God for the guidance, knowledge, wisdom He has bestowed upon everyone who passed a brick, a bucket of water, prayed, or contributed in any way forty years ago to make The Vision Deliverance Centre the reality you all envision today. It is a job well done and is worthy of high commendation!

Congratulations once again, and continue to be brave and intentional in expressing the hope that is within you, always prepared to answer for the hope that you have found in Jesus Christ.

The Deliverance Evangelistic Association Inc.

Dear Vision Deliverance Centre; although the pandemic has made seeming obstacles and instabilities more visible, your resilience, desire for hard work and dedication have propelled you to this amazing milestone that you have achieved.

John 13:34 states: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another." Your anniversary celebration embodies the cornerstones of love, faith, and service. The mor tar that binds the church is the love of Christ. As you continue to love one another, you are fulfilling the greatest commandment and will reflect the heart of our Savior.

Isaiah 43:1reminds you "Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

As you mark this milestone you are reminded of the inexhaustible river of God's renewal. Over the years, your church has faced many challenges and trials. You have walked through hardship and difficulty; yet every time, God has made a way where there seemed to be no way. He has brought new life and growth in the midst of what seemed like barrenness and despair. This is the beauty of being anchored in Christ. Even when you face difficulties, you can trust in His promise to make all things new.

As you celebrate God's constant faithfulness to you in the past, also rejoice that He will continue to be faithful to you in the future. Over the years, God had knitted Vision Deliverance Centre into a church that is of one accord. You have walked together in unity, lifting up your voices and hearts in praise and worship.

I encourage you to continue to cultivate this spirit of unity as you move forward. Continue to be a house of praise, where every member is valued and welcomed to contribute their unique gifts for the glory of God. May your love for one another and your shared desires continue to lift high the name of Jesus.

Your anniversary is not just a mark of time but a testimony to the power of unity. Throughout the years, God has woven you into a harmoniously integrated community that loves God, loves others, and seeks to reach the world.

You are a diverse group of people, all joined together by the blood of Jesus Christ. Continue to celebrate the unity God has created in Vision Deliverance Centre, recognizing that this unity only comes through the gospel. You must strive to put love at the centre of all that you do, both within your church community and in your interactions with others. Remember that it is through your love for one another and the love for God that the world will see the reality of God's unfailing love. Therefore, in this season you have an opportunity to rethink and change your old patterns and behaviours. Be thankful for all participants who have supported your fellowship; and confidently show that Vision Deliverance Centre plays a significant part in your lives and in the life of the communities that it serves. Therefore, unite and engender positive changes as you continue to work towards another 40 beautiful years together. Congratulations, as you celebrate a hallmark of trust in God’s faithfulness!

"Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. " (Isaiah 43:19)

As you mark this milestone, I want to remind you of the inexhaustible river of God's renewal. Over the years, your church has faced many challenges and trials. You've walked through hardship and difficulty. Throughout all those moments of hardships and difficulties, you would have seen God made a way where there seemed to be no way. Congratulations to the leadership and members of this noble congregation, Vision Deliverance Centre. God richest blessings as you celebrate 40 years of God's faithfulness, love and favor.

Congratulations are in order to our church, Lacovia Vision Deliverance Centre! It is indeed a blessing on this our 40 years of milestone. God has been good and it wasn't an easy journey and we couldn't have made it thus far without God in the midst of it all. We truly come this far by faith leaning on the Lord. The Vision Continues; Today omorrow and with us working together. God bless you all.

The Lord had in his heart a work to be done in Lacovia and in 1984, Pastor Morris Brown in a vision saw himself erecting a tent for a crusade in Lacovia. He shared the vision with Pastor Delbert Blair. On May 29th a tent was erected at the Lacovia Community Centre, for a crusade which lasted a month, and sixteen (16) persons were baptized.

These sixteen (16) people decided they were going to provide services at the Lacovia Training Centre. Brother Jeremiah Vassell was given the charge to lead these services as Pastor Brown resided in and pastored a church in Hanover and was only able to visit on Sundays.

The hunger for Christ was burning in hearts and soon Pastor Brown along with seven (7) new converts journeyed to the river by the bridge for baptism. At the end of the exercise, ninety-nine (99) people were baptized, increasing the membership to one hundred and six (106).

The facilities of the Lacovia Training Centre were temporary, and a new home had to be found for the church. Mr. Neville Lewis, the then M.P. for Lacovia asked Mr. J.C. Hutchinson to give Bishop Herro Blair a spot of land and he did not hesitate.

The majority of new converts cleaned the land where the church is now located, and Bishop Blair pitched another tent with bamboo seats and marl flooring to host the second crusade. This tent posed a lot of challenges because of its age, and as a result had to be raised in the evenings and taken down in the mornings for repairs. This crusade lasted for a week and saw one hundred and eighty-three (183) persons giving their lives to God, making a total of persons to be baptized since inception -two hundred and eighty-nine (289).

Bishop Bernard, the National Superintendent at the time, decided to construct a 40 ft building, but after consultation with Mr. Roland Francis who was not a member at that time, it was changed to 80ft long and 30ft wide.

Under the direction of Pastor Brown, members and non-members came together and constructed the building in a day. Through divine intervention, Pastor Larry Reaves, saw the needs of the church and donated two truckloads of marl, fifty bags of cement and a mould to build blocks: resulting in the completion of the building. He also contributed Bibles. In July 1988, Pastor Brown's four (4) years of services to the Vision Deliverance Centre came to an end. In that same year (1988), Pastor Wellesley Plummer and family took up the mantle to

continue the church. He did an extension of the building, remodeling and reflooring making it more suitable for worship. During his tenure, the Adult and Junior Choirs were formed, baptisms were held, and the church manse commenced.

On September 3, 1990, Minister Ivylyn Plummer, his wife, started basic school on the same property which we know today as the “Tiny Tots Basic School.”

Pastor Plummer gave eight years of hard work, witnessed, and lead the increased membership and guided the discipleship of the brethren. He was later transferred to pastor a church in Montego Bay, St. James.

In 1996, Pastor Eulick Kelly and his wife commenced leadership and ministry.

The expansion of the sanctuary was undertaken resulting in two wings to the building, tiling of the rostrum and floor, building of the pool, addition of offices upstairs and a porch. The dimension of the church now stands at about 100ft long and 60 ft wide. He also spearheaded a Missions Department where he provided for the shut-ins, assisted children in attending school, constructed houses for the needy, established an insurance policy for the elderly members, completed the church manse, among other things.

During his eleven (11) years and eight (8) months- pastor Kelly had numerous crusades where souls were gained for the Lord, but the overall membership of the church fluctuated. It was during his tenure, Mr. Roland Francis and Mr. Desmond Malcolm were promoted as Ministers. Living Faith Deliverance in the Cornwall District of Lacovia emerged under his leadership. Pastor Kelly’s tenure ended in May 2008.

The mantle was passed on and Pastor Erma Samuels began pastoral duties at Vision in 2008. Pastor Samuels reformed the Missions Department which provided the needy with food, clothing and financial assistance. She was also instrumental in the sourcing of furnishings for the offices, adding railing to the stairs and repainting the church. Additionally, under her leadership, the church was dedicated on February 2, 2009.

Pastor Samuels continued in ministry, passionate about the youth, the Royal Ambassador Corp and community evangelism. Pastor Samuels’ pastoral ministry came to an end in January 2022 when she took retirement.

Bishop Eulick Kelly answered the call to lead at Vision once more on July 1, 2022.

With a mission to reclaim the lost at all costs and reignite the fire of believers, he began a month-long prayer meeting and consecration service followed by a baptism in September 2022.

These missions extended to the communities of Middlesex and New River, extending the impact of the church outside of Lacovia. Bishop Kelly also made it a mission to secure land in these communities to establish ministries to reach members of these communities.

Concerned with the holistic well-being of not just the members of Vision, he revamped the Missions Department which became the HELPS Ministry- Having Enough Loving People Serve which has been impacting the community through visiting the shut-ins and other vulnerable members of the community, distributing packages and meals and extending a loving heart reflective of Christ. Similarly, Bishop Kelly had a vision of establishing a ministry that impacted the educational development of members of the church and community and the Education Ministry- named ‘Brighter Life Educational Ministry’ was launched in April 2023. Bishop Kelly continued his mission of impacting the holistic well-being of the church and secured sponsorship for the installation of Air conditioning units in the church. Additionally, the construction of restrooms for the physically challenged and a kitchen for the church were undertaken. With many visions written, and made plain, by faith we will carry on by the mercies of God today, Tomorrow, together.

Years of Vision’s Rally Highlights

Warmest greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, our soon coming King. The Vision Deliverance Centre's Ladies Fellowship continues to be a vibrant and committed one. We commit ourselves to the guidance of God's word keeping a humble spirit, having a clear conscience to all people and keeping our af1ections fixed on eternal values. We will allow Jesus to be the Lord of our lives and to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit daily and to pray faithfully and fervently for revival in our lives, our church, our community and the world.

As we celebrate our Church's 40th Anniversary under the theme: The Vision Continues Today, Tomorrow, Together. We therefore pledge to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ without compromise. Our fellowship remains under the motto of Philippians 4:13 and the theme song Learning to lean on Jesus. We continue to be active in our church and community, giving help to others as the need arises. Activities we are involved in are visiting the sick and shut-ins to assist with their physical and spiritual needs.

We also participated in our community Primary and infant school read across the day activities. We participated in giving breakfast for a day to the primary and infant school children. We are thankful for how the Lord has been consistently leading us to get the gospel out throughout the years.

As we look to the future let us remember that we are not just individuals, but a community of women united by faith. May the Lord bring us opportunities to grow in our faith, to deepen our relationship with God, and to serve others in kindness and compassion. May we continually reflect His love and light in all we do. GOD BLESS!

The Youth Department under the current Advisory of Deacon R. Whyte and Presidency of Sis K. Dixon and Sis S. Smith Anderson has been guide by the theme “A.R.I.S.E YOUTHSAffirm your faith, reclaim your purpose, intercede fervently, serve with Grace and Emulate God” for the past year. It is an honour for me to express a hearty Congratulations to us at VDC on our 40th Anniversary under the theme “The Vision continues Today, Tomorrow, Together. Growing up in this church we were the Royal Ambassadors, this program has helped to mold us into the young people we are today we were guided by the Mantra “As a Royal Ambassador I will do my best, to become a well-informed, responsible follower of Christ, to have a Christ like concern for all people, to learn how the message of Christ is carried around the world and to work with others in sharing Christ and to keep ourselves clean and healthy in mind and body.

The Month of October is dedicated as Youth Month, in which we plan and execute activities with the aim of building our youths and winning more young souls for the Kingdom of Heaven. Some of these activities include: Youth Convention, Talk up Youths and a Bonfire. Our Youth Fellowship is held on the Second and Fourth Friday of each month. In closing I implore the young people to let your light shine as we are the future of the church and remember The Vision continues, Today, Tomorrow, Together.

Words of Inspiration

A Journey of Hope

Through the long, dark, arduous roads

Toiled we together, seekers of souls Hungry and passionate, desperate for God We decidedly the narrow road to trod

Forty years!

Four decades of labouring

Amidst struggles and disappoints with thread like faith

But look at us now by God’s grace!

Ours is the victory through Christ alone! Standing in Lacovia as a beacon of hope!

The vision still tarries for yet are still Many glories, and manifest victories of the Father’s will

Happy 40th anniversary Vision

The journey continues Today, Tomorrow, Together!

Our Declaration for Today, Tomorrow, Together

We declare the vision’s written clear and bold We are claiming and seeking plenty souls! We reap from the fields, the young and old! We feed the hungry, desperate and lost souls! We impact educationally, economically, the holistic man

The love of God and united hearts, our weapons

Together, we are Vision and we will rise Stronger, together, for Christ!

The work is not over!

No, it’s not yet done!

But onwards we march in the name of the Father, Spirit and Son!

Words of Inspiration

In Seasons of Silence

In seasons of silence miracles seem slow. It can be overwhelming and disappointing to have to wait on God in silence. Trusting God when hope seems stretched thinned over weeks, months and even years, can feel like a hope deferred making the heart sick (Proverbs 13:12).

Waiting on God in seasons when everything seems slow is not easy. Instant miracles seem exciting, inviting, and impactful. The joy of sharing the answered phone calls that lead to open doors, the laying on of hands that immediately led to healing and recovery of a soul, that one person who showed up and ended a wilderness season- all sound incredible. Amazingly, God knows that we all crave for instant miracles and in some seasons, He does work wonders wildly! Wilder than our own imaginations could curate. Conversely, there are seasons that require waiting, trusting and believing in silence. God is the maker of everything wonderful and amazing. Wouldn’t it be odd if he opted to have you wait in vain? The God who raises men on eagles’ wings, does keep us waiting in silence to secure our faith and trust and to solidify our character. He is a God of purpose and with waiting comes winning in ways we could never design ourselves. We must trust God in seasons of silence when miracles that are certainly exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ever ask or think (Ephesians 3 vs 20), might seem slow to come.

God is using what seems like a season of silence, a slow miracle to develop your character and build your faith in him.

1. What are some ways in which God is building you while the miracle seems slow?

2. What do you need to learn in this season of silence?
