ANNUAL MEETING 2024 Oklahoma Dental Association’s

Welcome from the ODA President

On behalf of the Oklahoma Dental Association, I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to the 2024 ODA Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City!

This year’s meeting promises to be an enriching experience filled with opportunities for networking, learning, and professional growth. As the ODA President, I am particularly excited to see professionals like you gather to exchange insights, share best practices, and collaborate on advancing the field of dentistry.

The theme this year, “Stronger Than Ever,” showcases the growth of ODA’s membership this past year and our commitment to increasing member engagement, particularly in our advocacy and policy work.

Our collective efforts are even more powerful with more members getting involved

in setting our priorities and goals, creating relationships with lawmakers, and making important decisions for the future. If you’re not already serving in a leadership or volunteer role with ODA, we’d love to have you on board.

At this year’s Annual Meeting, you’ll hear from speakers on a wide variety of topics, reflecting the many types of attendees we have. There’s something for everyone in the dental industry at this conference, and I am confident that you will find inspiration and valuable takeaways to apply within your own organizations.

Moreover, the Annual Meeting serves as an excellent platform to forge new connections and strengthen existing ones. I encourage you to take full advantage of the social events on Thursday night, Friday morning, and Friday afternoon, and engage with your peers from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise. It is through these interactions that we can foster innovation and drive positive change in our respective spheres.

As a participant, your presence contributes to the vibrancy of this event, and your support allows us to continue bringing high-caliber, relevant, and talented speakers each year. Your insights and contributions during the meetings and sessions will enrich the discourse and propel our collective mission forward, and we thank you for signing up and showing up.

I would like to express my appreciation to our sponsors, speakers, planning committee members, and staff who have worked to make this event possible. Their work is instrumental in ensuring a seamless and rewarding experience for all attendees.

A special thanks to event co-chairs Jennifer Jenkins, DDS and Sara Spurlock, DDS who led the 2024 Annual Meeting Planning Committee and helped secure speakers, identify session topics, raise funds, and spread the word. They are also the keynote speakers at Friday’s Lunch & Learn and are award winners this year.

Once again, welcome to the 2024 ODA Annual Meeting. I look forward to meeting you personally and sharing in the excitement of this remarkable event.

OBTAINING CE CREDITS

The Oklahoma Dental Association will provide Annual Meeting attendees with an electronic Verification of Participation Form for each course they attend in order to obtain continuing education (CE) credits. Credits are assigned by the ODA and/or ODAA on an hour-for-hour basis.

To access the course surveys, visit okda.org/CEsurveys or scan the QR code to the right, then click the link to take the survey. Once completed, you will receive a link to download your certificates.

A link will also be emailed to all attendees the week following the Annual Meeting.

Please note: ODA’s Annual Meeting CE credits are not PACE or CERP certified, although they are compliant with all rules governing those programs. The Oklahoma State Board of Dentistry has pre-approved all ODA Annual Meeting courses, and courses will count toward continuing education for licensure in the State of Oklahoma, but they may not be applicable toward national level fellowships or other programs.

Oklahoma practitioners are responsible for submitting their own CE documentation to the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry. Please review the updated requirements online at ok.gov/dentistry. Out-of-state practitioners are responsible for submitting necessary continuing education documentation to their individual state’s Board of Dentistry to receive credits.

If you have trouble with the surveys or receiving the verification, please email jjohnson@okda.org.

ENGAGING AS A GLOBAL CORPORATE CITIZEN

When Henry and Esther Schein opened the doors of their pharmacy, they firmly believed that a special culture, deeply-held values, and a commitment to giving back to the community would prove to be a recipe for a successful business. Nine decades later, we have adhered to the idea that "doing good" for the professions and communities we serve strengthens the ability of the Company to "do well." This idea was exemplified by the establishment of our corporate social responsibility program, Henry Schein Cares, in 2001.

We pursue this mission in partnership with more than 4,000 supplier partners and more than 1 million health care providers, who serve 1 billion patients around the world. Our unique position within the health care ecosystem enables us to engage each of our stakeholders to fulfill our mission as a global corporate citizen to make the world healthier.
