ATTRACTIONS | RAIL TRAIL The Okanagan Rail Trail is a pedestrian and bicycle connection between communities of the North and Central Okanagan with access to some of the most scenic features of the valley. It is roughly 50km long; the mostly flat trail traverses stunning lakefront shoreline, orchards and farm land, urbanized areas, industrial lands and natural areas flanked with steep slopes and rock walls. The trail is compacted gravel, as well as asphalt in sections, and every trip offers the opportunity to learn about the Syilx (Okanagan) people, their traditional territory and to enjoy the rich natural ecosystems of the lakes and creeks along the trail. Know before you go Over 24km of trail follows lakeshore, creeks and unique natural environments. A section of the trail, north of Kelowna International Airport is not yet developed and is therefore closed to public use (between km30 and km36 on this map).
