Any standard welcome, but you will find it easier to manage the music if you are Grade 3 or better. Playing in an orchestra, being surrounded by the sound of all the other instruments, is one of the most exciting experiences you can have as a musician. LSO exists to give students the chance to find out what this is like, and to develop the skills which will enable you to play at a more advanced level. LSO will have performance opportunities in Lower School Concerts every term.

Do you like to boldly go where no-one has gone before? Or perhaps the dark side of The Force is your thing? Maybe the fecund imaginations of authors from Asimov to Zelazny gets you dipping into the rich literary heritage that started with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Disparate though these all are, what all science fiction has in common is taking some kernel of scientific fact and running with it, often in ways to make a physics teacher wince! Open to all year groups, in Sci-Fi club we will explore our favourites from the genre and discuss how realistic the science behind them is. So is it just all Sci-Fi, or is there really some SciFa?
