VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT LIFE STERLING COLLEGE
MARK TREMAIN,

WE ARE SERVICE ORIENTED

We are more than just a general contractor or management firm. We work with you to design all aspects of a project, then build it. We self perform much of the work. This allows us to control the quality and cost and save you time and money. Our project managers are PMP certified and understand your needs. A significant part of our success is the ability to engineer and fabricate much of the custom work needed for a professional and successful outcome.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT

Wallace Companies has embraced the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) process and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. PMI provides project management concepts that are the standards for effective project management nationwide. This process allows us to more effectively manage the cost, time, and scope of your construction project.

The project manager (PM) assigned will be committed to your project from the first day, until long after the last. Our PMs will work side-by-side with you during each phase of your project, coordinating with the municipalities, architects, and engineers to ensure your goals are met. The PM will conduct weekly meetings to keep all stakeholders apprised of all construction activities, as well as conduct weekly meeting with all on-site personnel.

Our internal model is built on a system of teamwork and quality control. Each project is reviewed weekly to discuss scheduling, budgets, and to develop innovative ideas specifically geared for your project. Here at Wallace Companies, we believe no matter our title, we are builders first. This means you can rest assured knowing your project is in the hands of an experienced building professional.

SAFETY

Safety is paramount. Our safety programs provide a safe working environment for construction workers and, in turn, reduces our construction costs through lower workers compensation rates. Informal safety inspections are a continuous process by the project superintendent and all other personnel with supervisory authority. Observed hazards are immediately corrected. Formal safety inspections are conducted on a weekly basis. Periodic visits are made to the job site by the Safety Director. The primary purpose of these visits is to assist and train superintendents in safety and compliance issues. These visits are conducted by our Safety Department Staff who are skilled and certified professionals. The project superintendent conducts weekly safety meetings to discuss with employees and subcontractors particular items of concern related to safe construction techniques and equipment. We also have a safety recognition program in which employees are rewarded for extra effort in hazard recognition, avoiding accidents, and developing safe work habits. Our Substance Abuse Program covers pre-employment, post-accident, random, and for-cause situations. New Hires receive an orientation before going to work, and ongoing training on a periodic basis.

It is the intent of Wallace Companies to comply with the purpose and intent of all known Federal, State, and Local Regulations governing safety, and to enforce such known regulations which may be applicable. Our desire is to maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all affected persons. Our objective is to develop a positive attitude on the part of all supervisors and employees, and to reduce our injuries and illnesses to an absolute minimum.
