Welcome to the Shelby Hurst Photography branding guidelines. This document is designed to help maintain the consistency and integrity of our brand. Shelby Hurst Photography is distinguished by a bubbly personality, easy approachability, a knack for working well with children and adults alike, and a high level of professionalism. Our photos are characterized by their natural, airy style and exceptional quality.

PRIMARY Logo
The primary logo is the face of Shelby Hurst Photography and should be used in all major branding materials. The logo features a combination of elegant typography and a simple, stark icon that reflects the brand essence.


SECONDARY Logo
Use the logo in its original colors whenever possible. When the primary logo Is unable to be used. Use a secondary option based on the background and legibility of the logo in the space.

SIZE AND SPACE
Ensure the logo is always legible. Do not reduce the size below 0.5 inch in width. Maintain a clear space around the logo equal to 50 percent of the shutter height.

THE MINIMUM SIZE
It is sometimes necessary to increase and decrease the logo depending on the print area. Always keep in proportion. Always ensure the text is legible.

MISUSE Logo

Do not alter the logo’s colors in any way.
A few rules are necessary for maintaining the integrity of the brand. Any changes to our logo can diminish our values and the overall look of our brand. To maintain the integrity of our brand, the following misuse guidelines must be followed.

PALETTE Color
The primary color palette should be constant throughout all communications. The primary colors should dominate most designs with accent colors used sparingly to highlight and draw attention to key elements.
Typography
PRIMARY FONT
Typography is a powerful brand tool when used consistently. This set of fonts best represents the minimal and clean feel of the brand. It should be used across all print and web applications when available. Ofelia Display is the primary typeface, it should be used in all body text where typography is required. It is a simple, clean, and legible typeface that compliments our logo.

PHOTOGRAPHY Graphics
Shelby Hurst Photography images are characterized by the use of natural light, candid moments, capturing genuine, unscripted moments, light, airy images and minimal retouching to maintain a fresh and natural look.




ICONS Graphics
Elements from the logo and brand pattern are used to further reflect the branding. The shutter, lens, focus and wordmark are used in unique situations when more graphic element is needed within a design or as an icon.

Icons should be simple, clean, and reflective of the brand personality. Use them to enhance user experience on digital platforms, in print materials and for social media.
PATTERNS Graphics
Patterns should be subtle and airy, incorporating elements of the branding. Use patterns to add texture and interest to backgrounds and printed materials without overwhelming the content. The patterns can be used in any brand colors.
