FOCUS SHEET
Railway Accelerating the development of a safe low-carbon mode of transportation Facing with global climate challenges, accelerating the development of railway transport appears to be an essential way of reducing CO2 emissions, contributing to the development and attractiveness of territories, and promoting a principled mode of transport for goods and people. To meet these expectations, rail stakeholders are organising themselves in order to: • Develop new, more efficient, autonomous and more sustainable vehicles (lighter, versatile, battery or hydrogen powered vehicles) • Ensure the safety of infrastructures (stations, networks, overhead lines, structures), vehicles (trains, trams, metros) and equipment (loading, lifting and signalling equipment) • Ensure the safety of freight flows and passenger flows to increase frequency, and to develop interoperability and multimodal freight • Monitor, maintain and modernise railway infrastructure so that trains can run smoothly • Providing a high level of safety for travellers, employees and third parties Constantly standing by all stakeholders in the railway ecosystem, Apave Experts support you in compliance requirements, managing human, technical, environmental and digital risks and augmenting performance at each stage of your projects.
