How To Print Envelopes On Your Brother Printer?

Secondly, make sure that you close the envelop flaps before feeding and loading them into your printer. The recommended type of quality material is Monarch, DL, and Com-10 envelopes. Also, ensure that there are no adhesive tape seals on the flap of your envelope. The reason is that printing on envelopes that are pre-glued may not be possible because of the condition of the adhesive on it. Instead, you can use the envelopes that are designed for laser printers. The size of the envelope is also very crucial. So, use envelopes that are not larger than 90 mm in width and 140 mm in length.

The use of poor-quality envelopes can cause deteriorated print quality and creasing on the paper. There are a wide variety of envelopes that can perform exceptionally well with your Brother printer. But some envelopes are constructed in such a way that it will automatically lead to print quality and feeding problems.

The most suitable envelope for printing should have straight and well-creased folds. Make sure that along the leading edge of the envelope, the thickness should not be more than twice that of paper. The envelope you are using for printing should lie flat on the tray and must not have flimsy or baggy construction. Now that you are all set, follow the steps given below to print envelopes on Setup.brother.com: 1. First, open the back cover, which is located at the back of your Brother printer machine. You can use the handles to open it. This back cover will also act as the output tray for the envelope after its printing is completed.

2. Now, to print envelopes, push down the two green levers. You will find them on each side of the back cover. Keep pushing them down into a downward position until they lock up.

3. Next, open the manual feed slot cover of your Brother printer. It is located at the front of the printer machine just below the main output tray. Or find it just below the Brother logo. There is also a handle located above the manual feed slot cover; use that to open it.

4. After you have opened the feed slot cover, you will be able to locate the paper guides on the right and left sides. This helps to stabilize the position of the envelope that is being printed. Keep sliding both the paper guides inwards until you reach the exact width of the envelope you are using.

5. Now, place the envelope in the manual feed slot making sure that the side you want the print on is facing upwards. Insert the envelope in between the two paper guides. Push the inserted envelope until it comes in contact with the printer roller. You will notice that as you continue inserting the envelope, the roller will grab, pull it in, and you have to let it go.

6. Next, on your computer system, open the print window and select the model of your printer to print envelopes on Setup.brother.com.

7. Click on “Preferences” or on “Print Properties” and choose the paper size.

You can select the envelope size from the drop-down menu. Then choose orientation, which can be portrait or landscape. If you wish to change other printer settings that are applicable, you can do that. And then use the page preview to look at how your envelope will look once it’s printed.
