In 2011–2012, Belmont University was named one of the top 10 colleges in U.S. News & World Report’s rankings of America’s Best Colleges. Belmont remains at number seven of the Regional Universities-South listing for the fourth year in a row. It is also the highest-ranked university of the 15 ranked Tennessee institutions in that category and in the top seven of the 128 schools included from the South. Belmont improved over the previous year in a number of areas including in its graduation rate, percentage of full-time faculty, alumni giving and freshman selectivity.
