THE MUSTANGS
AMERICA’S WILD HORSES
In a powerful new documentary executive produced by icons Robert Redford and Patti Scialfa Springsteen alongside Jessica Springsteen, America’s wild horses take center stage. “The Mustangs: America’s Wild Horses” is more than just a film; it’s a poignant exploration of these majestic creatures’ tumultuous past and uncertain future.
With over 80,000 wild horses roaming federal lands and another 50,000 under government custody, their story is one of resilience and survival against mounting challenges. According to Redford, “America’s wild horses are fighting their last stand,” as he underscores the growing competition for natural resources that threatens not only these iconic animals but also the very essence of America’s wilderness.
The documentary weaves together narratives that showcase the deep connection between humans and horses. Operation Wild Horse, a pioneering initiative, pairs mustangs with veterans suffering from PTSD, highlighting the therapeutic bond between these veterans and the wild horses that roam free. The legacy of “Wild Horse Annie,” who mobilized half a century ago to protect these animals from extinction, resonates throughout the film, showcasing the enduring impact of grassroots activism.
“The Mustangs” is not just a documentary about animals; it’s a celebration of American spirit and resilience. Through stunning visuals and heartfelt stories, it captures the essence of these wild horses as symbols of freedom and endurance in the American landscape.

cats and the BIG CATS 24/7 camera crew are tested to their limits.
