Explore the intricate world of data privacy with “NOVA: Secrets in Your Data” Wednesday, May 15th at 8 p.m., shedding light on the nuances of online tracking hidden from view. Experience the magic of music and storytelling in “Great Performances: Rogers and Hammerstein’s 80th Anniversary Celebration” on Friday, May 31st at 9 p.m. From the “Antiques Roadshow: Junk in the Trunk” special on Monday, May 20th at 7 p.m. to the emotionally charged “Space: The Longest Goodbye” on Monday, May 6th at 9 p.m., our programs promise a unique perspective and compelling narrative.

Finally, we take great pride in showcasing the remarkable achievements of Oklahoma’s academic all-state seniors from 64 public school districts through the “Oklahoma Foundation For Excellence,” airing Saturday, May 18th at 3 p.m. Their academic dedication and exceptionalism are celebrated in this prestigious awards ceremony.

The National Memorial Day Concert honors our country’s veterans, servicemen and women and military families. The concert unites the country in remembrance and appreciation of those who gave their lives for our nation and serves those who are grieving through the mission put forward by Abraham Lincoln in his second inaugural address, “Let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind

up the nation’s wounds; to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan.”

For over 30 years, this multi-award-winning television event, featuring uplifting musical performances, documentary footage and dramatic readings, has become an American tradition and is one of PBS’ highest-rated programs. On the broadcast, celebrities

share real-life stories spanning the broad history of our nation’s military conflicts, award winning musicians perform songs in tribute to our country’s true heroes and the finest performers from the United States premier military choirs and ensembles are featured.

Shaun Perkins first created ROMP, aka the Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry, in Locust Grove out of an old unused tractor shed. Now it's only one of two museums in the USA devoted to poetry in general, and is winning fans for its folksy, hand-made exhibits and prompts that encourage everyone to "become the poem."

Gallery America goes behind the scenes to learn how Shaun got the idea to do this, take a poem tour with Shaun of Locust Grove, and attend one of ROMP's many events – a birthday celebration of Yevgeny Yevtushenko, the legendary Soviet poet who, later in life, adopted Tulsa as his home. Shaun promises anyone can become the poem. "If you are willing to step in that door, and if you are curious enough to slow down, be present, put your phone away, stop worrying about what you got to do an hour from now, you can do it. It will come to you."

Using his camera as a “weapon against injustice,” Chinese American photographer

Corky Lee’s art is his activism. His unforgettable images of Asian American life empowered generations. This film’s intimate portrait reveals the triumphs and tragedies of the man behind the lens.

American Masters: Amy Tan: Unintended Memoir - May 13 at 10:00 p.m.

An intimate portrait of the groundbreaking writer that interweaves archival imagery, including home movies and personal photographs, animation and original interviews to tell the inspiring story of Tan’s life and career.

The enduring impact of George Nakashima, Junzo Yoshimura, Antonin, and Noemi Raymond on contemporary architecture and design. The documentary presents visually captivating explorations of architecturally significant sites in Philadelphia, illustrating the influence of traditional Japanese architecture on these modernist masters.

Shrapnel Down: My Korean War Story - May 23 at 7:00 p.m.

Bill Rector, a Korean War veteran and Gunner’s Mate on the USS Los Angeles, shares his untold story on public television. Using his previously unseen 8mm war footage, the documentary covers significant chapters such as the Blockade of Wonsan and the Court of Neptune ritual, revealing intriguing aspects of naval history.
