LETTER FROM THE INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear OETA Viewers and Friends,
As we move into Pledge Week, I want to take a moment to personally thank you for being part of the OETA family and to talk about why your support matters more than ever.
OETA has always belonged to the people of Oklahoma. For decades, we’ve worked hard to be a trusted source for news, culture, education, and community connection across all 77 counties. From beloved PBS programs and original local productions to vital emergency alerts and educational resources for children, OETA is here because of you – and for you.
Public television operates on a unique model: it relies on the partnership between viewers, communities, and stations like ours. Federal and state funding help build the foundation, but it’s individual support from viewers like you that strengthens it, ensuring that OETA remains free, accessible, and independent for everyone.
During Pledge Week, your donation does more than keep the lights on. It empowers us to tell more local stories, support Oklahoma teachers and classrooms, and deliver programming that educates, inspires, and uplifts.
If OETA has ever made you think a little deeper, dream a little bigger, or feel a little more connected to your community, I hope you’ll consider making a gift during this Pledge Week. Together, we can ensure that OETA continues to serve future generations of Oklahomans with the programs and services they count on.
Thank you for standing with public television and for believing in the power of ideas, education, and community.
With gratitude,
Shawn Black Interim Executive Director, OETA

DramaS
SUNDAY DRAMAS RETURN TO OETA WITH MYSTERY, MAJESTY, AND BOLD WOMEN AT THE HELM
This June, OETA’s Sunday Dramas deliver gripping mysteries, royal intrigue, and revolutionary women’s stories — all with signature PBS elegance.
Kicking off June 15, Patience makes its U.S. debut. This smart, heartwarming crime drama stars Breaking Bad’s Laura Fraser as Detective Bea Metcalf and Ella Maisy Purvis — a neurodiverse actress playing the brilliant, autistic archivist Patience Evans. Set in historic York, this unconventional duo cracks complex cases with sharp instincts, fresh perspective, and emotional depth.
Also premiering June 15 is Grantchester (Season 10), where a new vicar steps into the
pulpit as crime and conscience continue to collide in 1960s England.
On June 22, Sisi: Austrian Empress (Season 2) returns with more courtly drama, as the fierce and fashionable Empress Elisabeth battles monarchy politics and personal demons in 19th-century Europe. Meanwhile, Miss Friman’s War (Season 2) continues the powerful story of women fighting for equality and change in early 20th-century Sweden.
From gothic whodunnits to royal rebellions — your summer Sunday nights just got a whole lot more compelling.
