Unless sooner removed by the Regional Governor ,the term of the office of a deputy Regional Governor shall be co- terminus with the term of office of the Regional Governor who appointed him or her.

SEC. 7 Terms of Elective Regional Officials, (I) Terms of Office . The terms of office of the Regional Governor, Regional Vice Governor and members of the Regional Assembly shall be for a period of three (3) years, which shall began at noon on the 30th day of September next following the day of the election and shall end at noon of the same date three(3)years thereafter. The incumbent elective officials of the autonomous region shall continue in affect until their successors are elected and qualified.

(2)Terms limits. No Regional Governor, Regional Vice Governor, or members of the Assembly shall serve for more than here (3) consecutive temrs.Voluntary renunciation of or removal from office for any length of the time shall not be conceded an interruption in the continuity of the service for the full term for which he or she was elective.

The term limits in Republic Act NO.7160, the local Government Code of 1991,shall apply to the governors of provvice3s and mayors of cities, Municipalities, and punong barangay in the autonomous region.[ SEC.8.

Oaths or affirmations of office of the Regional Governor and Regional Vice Governor.- Before they enter on execution of their office ,the Regional Governor and the Regional Vice Governor shall take the following oath or affirmation I do solemnly swear (affirm) that I will faithfully and conscientiously fulfill may duties as the Regional Governor (or the Regional Vice Governor) of the Regional Government of the Autonomous Region Muslim Mindanao, preserve and depend the constitution of the Republic, this Organic Act, the national and regional laws, do justice to every man, concentrate myself to the service of the autonomous region and the nations, renounce the use of violence and commit myself to democratic means in the pursuit of the ideals and aspirations of the people of the autonomous region. So help me God.’’ (in case of affirmation, last sentence will be omitted.)

SEC.9.

Compensation of Regional Governor and Vice Governor unless otherwise provided by the regional assembly the annual compensation of the Regional Governor and Regional Vice Governor shall be two hundred fifty thousand (250, 000.00) pesos and two hundred thirty thousand (230, 000.00) pesos respectively subject to the salary standardization Law. The Compensation. May be increased or decreased by the Regional Assembly subject to the existing law of position classification and compensation. The increase or decrease of their salaries shall, however, not take effect until after their term of office during which the increase or decrease was enacted by the Regional Assembly shall have ended. They shall not receive during their tenure any other emoluments from the central government or national government or Regional Government or from the central or regional government – owed- or controlled corporations or firms.
