iPod
The iPod is not only the first of three apple products on this list, it is also the oldest. It was first introduced in 2001 but it wasn’t until the fourth generation classic iPod of 2004, with its colour screen and click wheel, that it truly became a sensation. We have since seen the device become ‘the’ brand name in portable music and has spawned five different models to fit every person’s lifestyle.
Just like the iPod wasn’t the first portable music player, the Kindle wasn’t the first e-book reader either. But like what the former did to the portable music industry, the kindle did for the e-reader industry. It made the e-book reading experience seamless and easy and books could be downloaded within seconds while newspaper subscriptions are updated automatically overnight. Two generations down the line it is still the very best in the industry.
