Office Profile INTRODUCTION ÖKOPLAN is one of the leading engineering consultancy firms in Egypt, with 230 planners, architects and engineers, our practice covers a wide range of services, including planning, urban design, landscaping, architectural design, interior design, civil and structural engineering. Originally founded in Stuttgart, Germany, ÖKOPLAN began its services in 1990; another office was later established in Cairo, Egypt in 1993 and another one in Tripoli, Libya in 2010. The firm has been involved in a broad variety of projects with different typologies: small-scale and large-scale; individual buildings and large complexes, both inside and outside Egypt. Over the past ten years, ÖKOPLAN team has established strong relationships with numerous overseas engineering consultancy firms, thus becoming exposed to other ways of practice, making it possible to exchange different work methodologies. Our work volume in the Middle East comprises projects that cover- in total- around 25,000,000 sqm of land. Annually, we develop more than 1,400,000 sqm of project built-up areas, starting from conceptual design to construction drawings and tender documents, in addition to site supervision and construction management. The firm’s expertise in design and development is underpinned by a long history of successfully completed projects. As a group of planners, urban designers, architects and engineers, we nurture innovative ideas that reveal high standards of professional skills. We work together as a team, utilizing progressive design approaches and integrating state-of-the-art technologies throughout the design process, to achieve the best quality within the most economic and feasible means. ÖKOPLAN explores the complex challenges of built and natural environments, developing solutions that balance a modern aesthetic, with an ecologically sensitive practice to create value and identity, while fulfilling the global commitment to sustainability. We are concerned with the physical contexts of all our projects and are influenced by the cultures and climates of their places, acknowledging that architecture is generated by the needs of people, and always guided by the belief that the quality of our surroundings directly influences the quality of our lives. We are convinced that high quality is achieved through minimalism and transparency in design; our buildings are created from the balanced combination of clean-cut forms, which are positioned in the urban context MISSION STATEMENT

1. Pre-Schematic Design: including financial requirements, time requirements and the scope of a project. In addition to the establishment of site-related limitations and requirements. 2. Schematic Design: including the establishment of the general scope, conceptual design, the scales and relationships between project components.
3. Design Development: including the refinement and description of the size and character of a project. 4. Design Guidelines: including the rules that guide the physical development of a project. The produced manuals constitute criteria that describe the overall urban, architectural and landscape themes within a certain development. 5. License Documents and Approvals: including the attainment of all statutory approvals- from special governmental organizations, local authorities, environmental institutions- for a project according to Egyptian Regulations and complying with Egyptian Legislation procedures. 6. Construction Documents: including the production of detailed working drawings, BOQs, specifications and final cost estimation. 7. Bidding or Negotiations: including the preparation of tender documents, soliciting bids and awarding contracts. 8. Site Supervision and Construction Management: including inspections and tests necessary to ensure proper standards of construction within agreed upon cost and time limits. 9. Post-construction Services: including the assistance of project owners during use and occupancy. The above-indicated services are generally performed in a chronological sequence, following the order shown in items 1 through 9.
