Housing & Residence Life Same-Room Sign Up Guide Returning Residents

Housing Reminders Current residents of University Village, Dominion House, Powhatan and Nusbaum Apartments are eligible to complete Same-Room Sign-Up. ▪ Attention: Your priority in Return Housing is completing Same-Room Sign Up. If you decide not to participate in Same-Room Sign Up, you will be waitlisted for an assignment via the Auto-Allocation process. The Auto-Allocation process begins after all other selection processes have taken place.

▪ Being waitlisted means that all rooms have been reserved; however, if another resident cancels their assignment, we will be able to make another reservation. Being waitlisted does not ensure you will receive an assignment; the waitlist is merely a way for you to wait in line for an open room. If a room never opens, a new reservation cannot be made. Please acknowledge, spaces in a preferred building with preferred roommates cannot be guaranteed.

▪ If applicable, be sure that all preferred roommates are in your Roommate Group prior to starting this process. Getting halfway through the process and returning to the Roommate Group page will remove any rooms you have selected. Be sure to select the appropriate amount of bed spaces to assign to all group members. Not selecting enough beds and returning to the selector page will remove any rooms you have selected. Forgetting to assign your group members a bed space and advancing forward will leave your group members without an assignment. Once you have assigned bed spaces, there is no chance to return and redo the process.

Assign Beds Assign Beds ▪ You will have 6 minutes from this point to assign beds and reserve the assignment ▪ Assign a bed to yourself and if applicable, to your Roommate Group Members.

▪ Advancing past this page without assigning your group members will leave them without an assignment. You will not be able to return/redo this step.

▪ Select “Continue”

Reserve Assignment

Reserve Assignment ▪ Review the selected building, unit and bed spaces (highlighted in green).

▪ Select “Reserve Assignment” to reserve your assignment.

Meal Plan Selection

Meal Plan Selection ▪ Access the Meal Plan Selection via the provided hyperlink.

▪ All questions regarding meal plans should be directed to the University Card Center.

▪ Select “Continue”

Assignment Status Assignment Status ▪ Review the Booking Summary area for your Location, Room and Room Type information ▪ You will also be able to view the occupants of your suite/unit; with the option to send them a message ▪ If a person is listed as “Occupied” they have opted not to share their contact information ▪ HRL will not be able to provide roommate information for those who opt not to share their contact information
