O’Donnell Snider Construction Zero Tolerance Policies January 1, 2023 The following infractions are considered zero tolerance and will be terms for immediate dismissal from O’Donnell Snider Construction controlled job sites. Drugs in the Workplace • The use, possession, sale, or solicitation of illegal drugs, alcohol, or prescription medication (without a prescription) at the workplace. • If an employee is impaired or under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol at the workplace • If the presence of any prohibited substances is detected in an employee’s system while at work Workplace Violence • Verbal Abuse, including an employee that makes threats, says offensive comments, or uses degrading language • Psychological abuse, including any conduct that is intended to provoke fear in a coworker • Sexual Misconduct, including any inappropriate remarks or physical contact • Acts of violence, including pushing, shoving, punching, kicking, choking, biting, or harming a coworker in any way • Any form of threatening, intimidating, or bullying others • Weapons on jobsites Safety • Fall Protection Issues: a. b. c. d. e.

Workers observed in unprotected or ungraded areas without proper fall protection in place. Disrupting a guardrail system without a permit. Removing a hole cover or working in the area of an unprotected or insufficiently protected hole without appropriate fall arrest system. The use of an inadequate anchorage point. Not properly tied off in an elevated work platform, or boom lift.

Safe Electrical Work Practices: Any worker engaged in energized work of any type whether observed or discovered after the task, as specified in NFPA 70E.

Confined Space: Workers and their foreman observed or discovered after the fact without a preplanning meeting and/or a permit or working in or near a confined space.

Excavations: Workers in trenches or excavations exceeding 5’ 0” in depth or discovered after the task without OSHA compliant systems.

PPE Violations: a. The employees or subcontractors found to be in OSHA non-compliance for PPE violations more than three times on a jobsite, will have to be retrained before returning to work. The subcontractor employer must supply written verification of re-training before the employee is permitted to return to the jobsite. Retraining will be only allowed once. b. A repeat violation after re-training will require immediate and permanent dismissal from the jobsite. c. The foreman or direct supervisor may also be subject to retraining and possible removal from the project.

Blatant disregard for safety may result in immediate and permanent dismissal from the site: a. b. c. d.

Guards, and safety measures removed or tampered with on tools. Tampering with emergency systems. Disregarding or tampering with barricades. Failure to comply with JSA, work permits, JHA, equipment and tool inspections or other jobsite policies.
