Initial training conference of the project “Talk, test and chat with someone who does science in Barcelona... and Catalonia” ODC launches the sixth edition of the scientific dissemination’s project “Talk, test and chat with someone who does science in Barcelona... and in Catalonia” with the aim of approaching science to society in a pleasant and didactic way, where scientists and citizens can experiment and talk face-to-face and continue the dialog through social networks. Inside this project’s framework, a list of 36 scientists with many different specialities, which goes from epigenetic to etnoecology, has been closed. At the same time, the inscriptions for educative centres are still open, until November 16th. We encourage you to promote the project to those centres you think may be interested in taking part of it (Centre's registration form). The training session took place at the Sagarada Familia’s Library, last October 20th. Teresa Escalas, Oriol Marion and Sergi Cantos, from the ODC, were the trainers. The objective of the training session was to provide scientists with tools to design participative activities, with a wide space for the dialogue, and with an experimental part as the core of the session.
ODC’s website: Now in English! The ODC opens new frontiers and now offers its content also in English. This month of October we have put into operation a third language tab on our website www.odc.cat/en/home that allows you to access to our contents in English. The website, which is still under construction, offers recent news, calls, activities and resources (2013-2014) also in English language.
We expand our working team. The ODC grows with new incorporations At the beginning of this new school year the ODC has expanded with two new staff incorporations. On the one hand, Sergi Cantos, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, will be in charge of the “Talk, test and chat...”project coordination. He will also manage the communication between the scientists and the educational centres. On the other hand, Mariona Garcia, graduated in Psychology, will be the one in charge of the updating and translation of the Observatory’s website content.
