Publisher's note Publishing quality Hindi books in the past few decades was not just a business, but largely a service to the Indian society. Furthermore, in the aftermath of an enduring publishing career, establishing a magazine in Defence and Security since the past seven years has been an exhilarating experience for me and my team. The solo zeal derived from our Defence magazine was not enough for any of us and then began a journey of many brainstorming discussions with the whole team to take this excitement to new heights.

There were many considerations but finally, in April this year, we decided to launch a world-class magazine on Food and Beverage, a sizzling and simmering domain where we are witnessing an utmost revolution since the past few decades. There were many reasons for the consensus on this idea but the dominant reason was that kitchens are the heart and soul of every house and the F&B industry has given the boost for the much needed modernisation and revolution of kitchens and thereby, our food and health.

I am overwhelmed to share the experience of FnB Buzz Team with the passionate chefs and I have to say, it has been thrilling right from the word ‘go’. Be it our initial discussions and further interactions with the First and Only Padma Shri awarded Chef Imtiaz Qureshi, First Master Chef Pankaj Bhadouria, Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, Master Chef Shipra Khanna or Chef Ajay Chopra to support our initiative. It has been a matter of great honour and privilege to have all these esteemed stars of the F&B as our celebrity affiliates. We will find their astute contributions in this Inaugural edition of FnB Buzz authenticating our endeavours and vision. I am much obliged in extending my gratitude towards our other important contributors in this venture who are equally passionate about the food, health and a holistic vigour in our lives. Dr Kaberi Banerjee, the famed IVF Specialist; Ms Shubi Husain, a well-known Dietician and Nutritionist and Dr Nisha Khanna, a noted Psychologist who have been very kind to support this venture and without their contribution our aim to provide a consolidated world-class edition would have not been possible to realise. Team FnB Buzz is highly grateful to all our contributors like Mr Ram Awatar Sharma, Ms Richa Tiwari, Ms Shruti Agrawal who have been very kind to us to provide us with their support and their expert thoughts for our readers to make the inaugural edition a success. This venture would have not been possible without the strong support of the whole Ocean Media and FnB Buzz team. Our Editorin-Chief, Ms Urvashi Jaahnvi: a poet by heart, a cook by passion and an entrepreneur by profession, has conceptualised and visualised the

whole concept of this magazine and which was further executed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Ms Mamta Jain who played an excellent role in making the connectivity from the scratch and today, we are able to realise the launch of FnB Buzz. She has been instrumental in approaching the experts, convincing them to write for us and then following up with them on a regular basis despite her complete oblivion over the F&B industry.

One of the prominent faces of Indian Cuisine, Padma Shri Imtiaz Qureshi needs no introduction. He is the first chef to win the prestigious Padma Shri award for his outstanding contribution to Indian Cuisine. We look at his journey as a chef - up, close & personal – in the column ‘Chef in Focus’.

It is our Assistant Editor, Ms Diana Mehra, who has given her editorial support in receiving, reviewing and editing the write ups. Ms Natasha, the Manager PR and Communications, have been holding the baton to pursue and coordinate for the collection of the content for the Inaugural edition. Her smiles, even during her strict coordination within the organisation, have always brightened our rigorous days. Our IT champs, Sonia Shaw and Ankit Kumar, have made headway in technically assisting us and created a buzz about FnB Buzz on the social media. I don’t mind in accepting here that since none of us had any background of F&B, we needed someone with a strong knowledge of the subject and our search climaxed to Nishant Khera who is religiously a foodie and an entrepreneur. He joined the team as the F&B Consultant and since then our strength has actually multiplied with his vision and directions. When we had started getting the contents from all the contributors, we required someone to take the charge of execution in the editorial department and thus we found Lipla Negi, a journalist with a background in food and travel journalism. Now that the entire editorial process was under control and in full swing, the role of our Head of Design Anuranjan Bhatia came into picture who canvassed the whole concept of designing the layout with the support of our other Senior Designer, Ms Alka Sharma. The support of the design team has been amazing as it is apparent from the excellent presentation of each page in this inaugural edition. I am thankful to all my team members for their unconditional support to make FnB Buzz a reality which was a dream cherished by me and the Editor-in-Chief. I would also like to extend my gratitude, on behalf of Team F&B Buzz, to our hospitality partner HYATT REGENCY, Gurgaon, for their immense support with special thanks to - Roger Wright (General Manager), Liam Crotty (Executive Chef), Supreet Roy (Food & Beverage Manager), Prantik Sengupta (Director of Events) & Simmi Sood (Marketing Communication Manager). A terrific host, the team of Hyatt left no stone unturned in making the FnB Buzz Launch Event a grand success. I am grateful to our advertisers as well for believing in our dream. Last but not the least, I would like to thank Mr Rajesh Gupta of Archana Advertising for understanding our precise requirements and for giving a world class touch to FnB Buzz magazine in the tight deadlines. I am sure our association with all our Star Celebrities and other experts will continue in the future with the same passion and FnB Buzz will create a history in the coming months and years, and an increasing number of people will join the Yummilicious journey!!

From the classroom to the centre stage, Chef Pankaj Bhadouria’s journey is a perfect example of what grit and determination can achieve! The first winner of MasterChef India always believed in dreaming big and working hard. She talks about nurturing one's dream with passion & conviction in ‘Cooking a Success Story’. Along with spices, he adds a ‘tadka’ of humour to his cooking. Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi’s name is synonymous with Indian food, especially the Indian Fusion Food. When not in the kitchen, Chef Sokhi spends his time on researching and creating recipes that come loaded with delicious yet healthy ingredients. The ‘King of Fusion Food’ shares some of his best fusion recipes in his story ‘Fusion Foods’.

For renowned Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Dr Kaberi Banerjee, food and fertility go hand in hand. According to her, a healthy diet can help boost one’s fertility. In her article ‘Fertility Foods’, she suggests dietary changes for a healthy-happy pregnancy.

The motto of Chef Ajay Chopra’s life has been quite simple - Love, Pray & Cook! Love unconditionally, pray with gratitude and cook with passion. He never misses to add two ingredients to his each and every dish – Love and Passion – the two make a dish perfect. Credited with making ‘Hi-Tea’ popular, Chef Chopra suggests which snacks go well with what type of tea in ‘The Perfect Match’. A famed psychologist, Dr Nisha Khanna also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga and Meditation because she strongly believes in the mind-body-soul harmony. Over the years, she has helped many come out of depression, beat stress, discover their true self and achieve a peaceful state of mind with her vast knowledge, expertise and guidance. In this issue, she talks about how our temperament affects our eating habits. 3

An acclaimed nutritionist, Shubi Husain has been conferred with various prestigious accolades for her outstanding contributions in the field of nutrition, weight loss and health care. She feels that the best way to stay fit is to eat a balanced diet minus processed and fatty foods. In her story '10 Commandments For Eating Healthy’, she simplifies the ‘the healthy diet’.

Another reason for coming up with this magazine was that we found a lack of an effective and useful information catered to the consumers in print media and also primarily because of the big gap between the F&B products and the consumers.
