WELCOME TO THE 40TH ANNUAL SEASIDE BOAT SHOW, sponsored by the Ocean City/Berlin Optimist Club. This annual Presidents’ Day show will once again be at the Ocean City Convention Center and features approximately 350 boats with over 50 boat dealers among the approximately 150 exhibitors from Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia offering numerous special show prices, displaying their newest and most popular models inside the 40th Street Ocean City Convention Center. The large number of boats sold each year during this 3-day show has established it as one of the most popular boat shows on the East Coast. The Seaside Boat Show will, again, offer many boat related exhibits, including marine electronics, trailers, canvas tops, motors, fish and tackle, nature crafts, boat parts, jewelry, art, financing, and insurance.
The Optimist Club is an international organization dedicated to providing opportunities and assistance to today’s youth. The Ocean City/Berlin Optimist Club is comprised of members who work through the year to generate funds to provide activities and programs for the area youth. Income realized from the SEASIDE BOAT SHOW and other projects benefits thousands of young people annually and the Ocean City/Berlin OPTIMIST are proud to be recognized as one of the area’s leading civic organizations.
The Optimist members are always aware of the importance and contributions of each individual exhibitor in producing a quality show and that is a pleasure for visitors to attend. We feel that no other boat show compares with the SEASIDE BOAT SHOW for appeal and enjoyment, a characteristic for which we are continually indebted to our exhibitors. One exhibitor to whom we owe a special debt of gratitude is North Bay Marina (Scott McCurdy) whom for the past 35 years has donated our Grand Prize. Without his and many others’ support, our show would not be what it is today. We sincerely appreciate the support of the thousands of visitors that attend each year and hope you will make the SEASIDE BOAT SHOW an annual event.

This year marks our Club’s 50th year in helping the Youth of our community. Every year we provide funding for not only scholarships, but numerous programs from sports activities to the arts. With 14 public schools and over 6,700 children in Worcester County there is an endless list of possible funding opportunities. For this school year we have added Wor-Wic Community College to our scholarship program. Our goal is to assist kids on a path for future careers in technical trades.
We are always open to new ideas on how to help the Kids. Many of our members are working as volunteers at this weekend’s show. Please feel free to ask them about what we do and let us know how you think we can help improve the lives of these kids.
My special thanks to our members for making this extraordinary event happen. The success of this Fundraiser could not be achieved without them. We are 104 men and women; consider joining us in our endeavors to “Support the Youth” of our community.
