Modernity & History Side by Side
The St. Regis Bermuda, a US$ 120 million investment project in St. Georges Parish, Bermuda, is designed as a gentle arch spanning the beautiful beach at Achilles Bay, sitting between the historic Fort of St Catherine and Fort Albert. The project will include the renovation of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course and will complement St Georges’ UNESCO World Heritage Site designation.
Developed by HotelCo, an experienced international Real Estate and Hotel development group, the new five-star hotel will feature 120 beach and golf front rooms and 90 condominiums. Inspired in the Bermudian vernacular, the buildings are richly articulated and woven into the gently sloping site. The Hotel will become a unique opportunity to experience Bermudian elegant living, while providing a robust economic anchor for the local economy.

A Resort Designed for Transformative Experiences
Our design embraces the culture and history of Marigot Bay. Nestled into the hillside is a series of one, two and three-storey wood structures of West Indian vernacular, offering expansive views overlooking what has been described as the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean. The six penthouse suites represent the height of luxury. Dining experiences include a sushi bar, show kitchen, Argentinean grill, and private dining room. More than just a place to get a drink, the Rum Cave is a fascinating, experiential, light-hearted, and delectable history lesson. This resort claims a special place in the heart of each guest.

A New Experience for an Iconic Resort
Looking to reaffirm its legacy as the Caribbean’s leading luxury resort, Rosewood Little Dix Bay enlisted OBMI as lead architect for its most sustainable, and resort-wide, upgrade since opening 50 years ago. The comprehensive, multi-million-dollar renovation will include the complete redesign of the resort’s guest rooms and suites, its three restaurants, and overall enhancements to the resort’s gardens and landscaping. As one of the most iconic resorts in the British Virgin Islands, Rosewood requested the redesign to be sensitive to the original Rockefeller appearance with new world amenities. The new design incorporates modern style while staying true to the property’s prolific roots as a leading example of ecotourism.

A Pristine Environment of Secluded Luxury
Scrub Island’s virgin terrain was a blank canvas from which we master planned a resort, spa, and 60- slip marina. Determined to protect the sensitive ecosystem, we left large areas untouched. Luxury residences are stepped around the hillside, blending into the terrain for total privacy and spectacular views. The property has since become the Caribbean’s first resort to join the exclusive Marriott Autograph Collection of boutique hotels selected for their one-of-a-kind character. It was also the British Virgin Islands’ first luxury, private-island resort development in more than 15 years. It remains a place like none other.

A Reminagination in Paradise
For Peter Island, OBMI has been commissioned to reimagine the Boater’s Retreat area into a public entertainment space for boating enthusiasts and resort guests to enjoy the true Caribbean experience, in style.
Preserving the welcome center, dockmaster, the pool and a few of the pavilions, OBMI is integrating and designing new buildings for the secluded private island such as pool bar and grill and events center, plus boaters amenities. A new hotel concept is being designed for Deadmans Beach with 52 new keys, while preserving 20 existing suites. The renowned spa is being refurbished, with the addition of a new state-of-the-art fitness center. Crow’s nest is being redesigned using existing foundations.

A New Era for Grand Reserve Residential Development
Envisioned to be a residential development reflecting uncompromising quality, the architecture was crafted with attention to detail and sophistication to attract both local and international investment. The site, situated in Rio Grande, offers tranquility and accessibility by merging urban amenities with natural serenity among federal natural reserves. The collection of residences includes two spec villas named Amane, that are luxury two-storey estates can be replicated for continued phases of development, as well as three identical four-story condo towers called Marea Residences which utilize floor to ceiling windows and glass balaconies that allow each unit to extend views as if floating along the horizon The residential collection were designed to leverage indoor-outdoor living at the grandest scale and maximize views of the oceanfront and mountainous range surrounding the site, the approach creates privacy for each element of the site while also linking properties through community trails and access to ammenities. Originally, the reserves were almost hidden, but with our design guardianship, the OBMI team recommended making the reserves part of the allure of the residences. Immersion in nature, rewilding, connection, etc.

Retaining the Integrity of a Pristine Environment
The hotel overlooks the stunning crescent shaped Half Moon Bay, one of the finest pink sand beaches in Antigua. OBMI’s design seeks to encourage guests to inhabit the landscape. The building elements are inspired by nature -with tree trunk-like columns and leaf textured screens. Roof lines in the lobby space open-up like wings to expanding the visitor’s views to the luxury resort’s magnificent seascape. The design approach let’s nature govern the architecture, with the various built elements forming the yin/yang unity between man-made and nature.

An Ultra-Luxury Private Island Retreat
Surrounded by the breathtaking turquoise waters, Montage Cay was envisioned to immerse guests in the welcoming, authentic spirit of the Bahamas through contemporary execution of traditional Bahamian architecture. The 53-acre private-island resort and residential community was masterfully planned to provide ocean-view, suite-style accommodations, each featuring luxury outdoor amenities including plunge pools, outdoor showers, private gardens and lounge areas. We designed Oil Nut Bay so as to firmly root it in its natural environment, seamlessly weaving together the resort, residences, rental accommodations, kids’ center, beach club, and spa. As well as creating the overall community, we also focused on luxury at the individual level. Set into steep slopes, residences have spectacular views, outdoor showers, spacious terraces, and private infinity plunge pools. Green roofs blend in with the lush surroundings and never compromise views. Planted with native species, they are sustainable by design, lowering energy consumption and passively cooling the structures.

We designed Oil Nut Bay so as to firmly root it in its natural environment, seamlessly weaving together the resort, residences, rental accommodations, kids’ center, beach club, and spa. As well as creating the overall community, we also focused on luxury at the individual level. Set into steep slopes, residences have spectacular views, outdoor showers, spacious terraces, and private infinity plunge pools. Green roofs blend in with the lush surroundings and never compromise views. Planted with native species, they are sustainable by design, lowering energy consumption and passively cooling the structures.

For the St. Regis Resort & Residences the tropical natural setting was the inspiration behind the design. As guests journey through the property they will find tones, shapes and textures reflecting the ocean, sand and beach foliage are employed throughout. In keeping with the affluent characteristics of the brand, the contemporary finishes and clean lines offer an experience that is both island elegant and invitingly residential. The welcoming atmosphere of the resort continues into the elegantly appointed ocean view rooms and residences. Soft, seductive, refined color palettes inspire the senses, for a seamless transition from the crystal waters to the living spaces.

Superior Accommodations With Minimal Impact On The Environment
Setting sights on achieving a model for superior accommodations with minimal impact on the environment, the team led the design of the Antantara Eco Resort & Spa. Situated within the eco-friendly planned community of Mina al Arab, resort includes private rooms and villas surrounded by a lagoon and reserve lush with diverse plant life. Sustainability is at the forefront of the plan, which addresses local climate and energy consumption. The resort is a sanctuary for visitors, who encounter nature and modern comforts at the beach and outdoor swimming pools. Shared pavilions for gathering, dining, and wellness activities invite water and plant life inside. A nature discovery center provides visitors opportunities to stargaze and learn about flora and fauna native to the gulf region and makes the resort a destination unto itself.
