Peter Aouely CEO, Pharmivoire Nouvelle
Philippe Abecassis is Senior Lecturer in Economics at Université Paris 13 Nord and is part of the Centre d’économie de l’université de Paris-Nord (CEPN). His research focuses on the pharmaceutical industry where he tackles the overlapping relations and influence of firms on medical drugs policy and decision-making and seeks to analyse the underlying factors and interests at work.
Peter Aouely has been CEO of Pharmivoire Nouvelle since 2009. Prior to this, he held a number of finance and management positions in Ivorian companies, notably as Management Controller and Deputy CEO of the paper and office equipment distributor Librairie de France. Peter is a graduate of Ecole Supérieure de Commerce d’Abidjan (ESCA business school).
Nathalie Coutinet Senior lecturer, université Paris 13
Erika Dueñas Policy and Advocacy Manager, Medicines Patent Pool
Nathalie Coutinet is an Economist at Université de Paris 13 Nord and researcher with the Centre d’économie de l’université de Paris-Nord (CEPN). She specialises in industrial economics and is primarily concerned with corporate mergers & acquisition strategies as well as with analysing the strategies of the major pharmaceutical firms. Her research also focuses closely on European healthcare policies.
Natasha Sunderji is the global health lead for Accenture Development Partnerships. She has over a decade of experience in growth strategy, business model design, and program evaluation across public, private, and non-profit organizations. She has also helped to design and facilitate numerous crosssectoral partnerships focused on addressing access challenges and strengthening healthcare systems to improve health outcomes. She holds a bachelor in biomedical engineering from University of Toronto and a master in public policy from Harvard Kennedy School.

Nouss Bih joined Investisseurs & Partenaires in 2015, as Head of Investment in Côte d’Ivoire. Before this, Nouss worked as a structured financing analyst at Société Générale and Santander in France where she helped put together export financing and trade finance solutions. Nouss holds a Masters in Management from ESCP Europe (Paris).
Elisabeth Kacou Chairman, Pharmivoire Nouvelle
Erika Dueñas has more than 20 years of experience working in the field of access to medicines, innovation and intellectual property. After a diplomatic mission at the Embassy in Washington, she was Vice-Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bolivia. Together with Médecins Sans Frontières and other NGOs, she founded the Platform of IP and Access to Medicines in Bolivia. She holds a Masters in International Law and Economics (LLM) from the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern (Switzerland).

Dr Elisabeth Kacou was trained as a pharmacist but she has occupied a wide range of different functions: Chairman of Pharmivoire Nouvelle (since 2004) and of the pharmacists cooperative group Copharm. Since 2016, she has been President of Club africain des entrepreneurs. Elisabeth is a graduate of Caen University (France) and Abidjan MDE Business School (Côte d’Ivoire).
Benedetta Schiavetti pharmacist and researcher, Quamed Benedetta Schiavetti is a pharmacist and a researcher in the quality of essential medicines. During 5 years working with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and, later on, with QUAMED, she developed extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical market and regulation in resource-limited settings and of the shortcomings of humanitarian procurement policies. She recently coordinated a medicine quality survey in DRC and, today, her main focus is the study of medicine quality across the supply chain.
