La tabla de posiciones utilizado en el boletín es un formato predeterminado por la FIVB. 2. El artículo 22 del Reglamento de Competencia del XV Campeonato Centroamericano Sub 21, Juvenil Masculino de AFECAVOL establece el sistema de puntaje y desempate. CLASIFICACION DE LOS EQUIPOS Round Robin Ranking To establish the ranking of teams after Preliminary Round, the ranking of the teams will be determined as follows: 1. By the results of matches won and lost. 2. In case of equality in the number of matches won and lost, among two or more teams of the same group, the final ranking of the teams will be determined by the number of points gained among teams of the same group during the Preliminary Round. 3. The following points will be awarded to each team per match, according to the number of sets won/lost: Match won 3-0 = 5 points Match won 3-1 = 4 points Match won 3-2 = 3 points Match lost 2-3 = 2 points Match lost 1-3 = 1 points Match lost 0-3 = 0 point Match forfeited = 0 points (25-0, 25-0, 25-0) Tie Breaking Procedure In case of equality in the number of points gained by two or more teams, the tie will be broken by the points ratio with the following criteria, in order of importance: A) Point Quotient: In case of equality in the number of points gained by two or several teams they will be classified in descending order by the quotient resulting from the division of all points scored by the total of points lost. B) Set Quotient: If the tie persists as per the points quotient the teams will be classified in descending order by the quotient resulting from the division of the number of all sets won by the number of all sets lost. C) If the tie continues as per the set quotient between two teams, the priority will be given to the team which won the last match between them. D) When the tie is between three or more teams a new classification of these teams will be made taking into consideration only the matches in which they were opposed to each other.

Honduras upsets defending champions Guatemala SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, November 15, 2013.‐ Honduras upsets Guatemala in a 3‐1 (14‐25, 25‐23, 25‐22, 25‐20) victory on Friday at the 15th Boy’s U21 Central American Championship. This was Honduras’ first win in the tournament prevailing over the four time champions of this age group. Honduras improves their record to 1‐3 while Guatemala drops to 2‐2. The winners showed more consistency and team effort. Both teams were equally efficient in blocking (9 points) and aces (6 points), but Honduras held advantage in spikes by 38‐30. Guatemala committed fewer errors than those of Honduras by 36‐45. Opposite William Thompson led Honduras with 22 points, including 3 aces and setter Erik Flores led Guatemala with 19 points, including 5 aces and 3 blocks. For Johnathan Massu the victory is the result of the team finally practicing and playing together “I study in the US and my teammates live all around Honduras. We began receiving badly but we were able to counterattack”. “We got discouraged with bad call from the referees and fell in one mistake after another, not being able to control our attitude” said captain Juan Jose Gonzalez of Guatemala. “Finally we find victory after four matches, we played with better rhythm and we had Guatemala well studied” indicated coach Rony Martinez. Coach Alvinzi Pelaez emphasized his team is formed mostly by U19 players “we lack experience and definitely it’s not the same entering the third set losing instead of winning as the result of bad refereeing.”
Honduras decepciona al campeón Guatemala SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, 15 de noviembre de 2013.‐ Honduras decepcionó a Guatemala venciéndolo 3‐1 (14‐25, 25‐ 23, 25‐22, 25‐20) este viernes en el XV Campeonato Centroamericano Sub‐21 Masculino. Este fue la primera victoria para Honduras en el torneo, prevaleciendo sobre el cuatro veces campeón de la categoría. Honduras mejora su record a 1‐3 mientras que Guatemala cae a 2‐2. Los ganadores mostraron mayor consistencia y trabajo en equipo. Ambos equipos fueron igualmente eficientes en el bloqueo (9 puntos) y en el servicio (6 puntos), pero Honduras aventajó en el ataque con 38‐30. Guatemala cometió menos errores que los de Honduras por 36‐45. El opuesto William Thompson de Honduras encabezó con 22 puntos, incluyendo 3 aces y el acomodador Erik Flores lideró a Guatemala con 19 puntos, incluyendo 5 aces y 3 bloqueos. Para Johnathan Massu la victoria es el resultado de estar practicando y jugando juntos “yo estudio en Estados Unidos y mis compañeros viven por diferente partes de Honduras. Empezamos flojos en el recibo pero pudimos contraatacar.” “Nos desmotivamos con malas decisiones arbitrales y caímos en error tras error, sin poder controlar nuestra actitud” dijo el capitán Juan José González de Guatemala. “Finalmente nos llega la victoria después de cuatro juegos, lo hicimos con mejor ritmo y teníamos bien estudiado a Guatemala” indicó el entrenador Rony Martínez. El entrenador Alvinzi Peláez hizo énfasis en que su equipo está formado en su mayoría por jugadores Sub 19 “carecemos experiencia y definitivamente no es lo mismo entrar al tercer set perdiendo que ganando como resultado por mal arbitraje.”
Nicaragua improves 2‐2 defeating Belize SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, November 15, 2013.‐ A solid performance from Nicaragua gave them the win 3‐0 (25‐22, 25‐ 21, 25‐21) over Belize at the 15th Boy’s U21 Central American Championship. Nicaragua applied well for a firm victory that put them in the fight for to remain in the first positions of the competition, while Belize lacked energy that has characterized them during previous performances. It was an important win for Nicaragua in straight sets to improve their record 2‐2 and adding five points to their overall score, for a total of 14 points. Nicaragua blocked Belize with 7‐3 advantage in that category and also held advantage in service points by 6‐1. Christofer Lazo of Nicaragua tallied 15 points, including 3 blocks and Kevin Duarte added 12 points. Raluni Bernardez topped Belize with 11 points, 10 in kills. “We left behind yesterday’s loss, today was a new day and we played more confident and stable, mostly to finish in three sets” indicated captain Brayan Orozco of Nicaragua. “The team fell short on our game plan, our defense was poor, we weren’t being efficient; I really can’t explain what happened” said captain Yserri Palacio of Belize. Coach Osman Hernandez was satisfied of the straight set win, he said “this is a good win for us, they boys were more dedicated and after Guatemala lost to Honduras they were more motivated to get in the fight. I hope we’ll do better tomorrow against Costa Rica”. Coach Leslie Leon explained that Nicaragua’s urgency to win was stronger than his team “Nicaragua wanted it more than us, my guys gave up”.

Nicaragua se aplicó bien con una victoria firme que los pone en la contienda de permanecer entre las primeras posiciones de la competencia, en tanto que a Belize le hizo falta la energía que los ha caracterizado previo a este juego. Un triunfo importante para Nicaragua en sets seguidos que mejora su record a 2‐2 y suman cinco puntos, para un total de 14 puntos acumulados. Nicaragua bloqueó a Belize con ventaja de 7‐3 en esa categoría y también tuvieron ventaja en puntos de servicio por 6‐1. Costa Rica stops El Salvador in five set thriller SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, November 15, 2013. ‐ Costa Rica prevailed over undefeated El Salvador by 3‐2 (19‐25, 25‐19, 20‐ 25, 25‐19, 17‐15) at the 15th Boy’s U21 Central American Championship. Despite Samuel Valdez of El Salvador superb performance scoring 33 points for a tournament high, Costa Rica stopped the hosts’ in their undefeated record. The top scorer for Costa Rica was Cesar Gomez with 25 points. Costa Rica took advantage of 46 unforced errors of El Salvador while committing 35 of their own. In blocking and serving both teams had 13 and 2 points respectively, but El Salvador performed better in spikes with 53‐45 advantage. “They had in favor being host, the crowd and their good performance, which we detained with taking care of little details in defense and blocking” indicated captain Andres Araya of Costa Rica. Samuel Valdez expressed his satisfaction because they played very well and the tie breaker was just to determine a winner, not the best team “we both played to our fullest; I admit I’m a little disappointed because we were undefeated but the fight for finishing first ends until tomorrow”. Coach Mauricio Prado of Costa Rica said “it was a good match, hard to play because they are the local team and the crowd was inside the game too. My team was able to push hard with serves, which made our blocking more effective”. “We weren’t able to seal the win and Costa Rica worked very well with their serves. We still have tomorrow and the first place is still in dispute” indicated coach Ricardo Rivera.
Costa Rica detiene a El Salvador en cinco sets SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, 15 de noviembre de 2013.‐ Costa Rica se impuso sobre los invictos de El Salvador por 3‐2 (19‐25, 25‐19, 20‐25, 25‐19, 17‐15) en el XV Campeonato Centroamericano Sub‐21 Masculino. A pesar del destacado desempeño de Samuel Valdez de El Salvador anotando el máximo del torneo con 33 puntos, Costa Rica detuvo al equipo de casa en su record invicto. El máximo anotador de Costa Rica fue Cesar Gómez con 25 puntos. Costa Rica tomó ventaja de los 46 errores no forzados de El Salvador, cometiendo 35 errores propios. En el bloqueo y servicio ambos equipos tuvieron 13 y 2 puntos respectivamente, pero El Salvador se desempeñó mejor en el ataque con ventaja de 53‐45. “Ellos tenían cosas a su favor, ser sede, el público y su buen juego, el cual pudimos contener cuidando pequeños detalles en nuestra defensa y bloqueo” indicó el capitán Andrés Araya de Costa Rica. Samuel Valdez expresó su satisfacción por que jugaran muy bien y el desempate fue solo para determinar al ganador y no al mejor equipo “ambos jugamos a nuestro máximo; admito que estoy un poco decepcionado porque íbamos invictos pero la pelea para finalizar de primero termina hasta mañana”. El entrenador Mauricio Prado de Costa Rica dijo “fue un buen juego, difícil de jugar porque son el local y la afición estaba metida en el juego. Mi equipo pudo presionar fuerte con el saque, lo que permitió que nuestro bloqueo fuera más efectivo”. “No supimos cerrar y Costa Rica trabajó muy bien con su servicio.
