Integral Bridge Analysis in Frew In Frew, integral bridge analysis can be either done in front of the abutment or at the back of the abutment in a single file.
Section 1: Definition of Stages: Integral bridge analysis is modelled in Frew typically using the following 4 stages:
Stage 0: Initial Conditions
Stage 2: Construct Deck The rotational and lateral restrain provided by the deck is modelled using elastic horizontal and rotational springs Kx and Kyy
Stage 1: Install piles and abutment
Stage 3: Backfill and initial comp/exp load Thermal loads

It is important to the note that the integral bridge stage can only be the last stage defined by the user. During analysis, the program internally creates additional sub-stages in place of the last stage defined by the user. This is explained in detail in the following sections.
