Watering of Fresh Floral Foam

To water Fresh Floral Foam, it is advised to use a container filled with water, which corresponds to the foam‘s shape and is sufficiently dimensioned.

Be sure to place the foam on top of the water without pushing down or twisting it, so it can soak thoroughly. This way, the air inside the foam can escape and water takes its place. As a result, the water spreads evenly in the floral foam, preventing any dry spots. Therefore, the flower arrangement is being watered properly.

Law of the water column – What are “cutting lines“ for?

When working with designs which require stacking multiple bricks on top of each other, the following things should be considered: The high pressure of the water column forces the water inside the bricks to stream downwards. As a result, drainage occurs at the top bricks, which flows towards the lower bricks. Therefore, the excess water leads to leakage.

It is, however, possible to minimize that unpleasant effect by placing a plastic film or a thin layer of Dry Floral Foam between every single brick. In doing so, the water column is interrupted and it is ensured that the upper bricks, as well as the lower ones, are storing enough water.

Several OASIS® Floral Foam products, especially large ones, contain “cutting lines“ (narrow notches) with the purpose of interrupting the water column and therefore minimizing the drainage.

Vacuum suction cup and Easy-Click-System

Various OASIS® products are already provided with vacuum suction cup, while others are equipped with the Easy-Click-System.

Easy-Click-System

The „hooks“ (immersions lined with plastic) of our Easy-Click-System are embedded at the bottom of the rigid foam base and make it simple to attach either wooden legs or our vacuum suction cup (ECOBASE® Vacufix), which are perfectly matched to this system.

When using vacuum suction cup (either already provided or in combination with the Easy-Click-System), please bear in mind the following:

• With the help of our vacuum suction cup, work pieces can be attached to smooth surfaces effortlessly.

• Be sure to clean and subsequently dry the suction cup‘s surface after making the flower arrangement ready. The selected spot, in which the arrangement is going to be placed, has to be equally as clean, dry and free from grease. Otherwise, the suction cup‘s adhesive force cannot be ensured.

• Even a recently polished car can decrease the vacuum suction cup‘s holding force. In that case, you are supposed to carefully remove the polish in the affected spot with some warm water, dish detergent and a lintfree (leather) cloth.

• To remove the flower arrangement from the base, we advise to slightly raise the edge of the suction cup with your fingertip. In that manner, air can stream into the vacuum and the suction cup can be easily detached.

• Vacuum suction cup can be reused up to three times.

• We do not recommend the application of vacuum cups on top of matte, repainted or foil-coated surfaces. (We do not assume any liability in this case.)

Rewatering of bridal bouquets

The bridal bouquet holder OASIS® Lady Plus can be „rewatered“ as it is equipped with an unscrewable bottom handle. You can place the bouquet in a jar with fresh water so the flowers are able to become saturated again.

That way, your wedding bouquet stays fresh and can therefore be manufactured beforehand without worries.
