Dynamic Indoor Rowing While there are many rowing machines to choose from, very few of them have the dynamic rowing movement.

On a stationary rowing machine the rower moves up and down the seat rail each stroke.

The dynamic movement of the DX significantly reduces the risk of injury by loading your body in a much safer and more natural way.

At each end of the stroke (catch and finish) they have to change the direction of their body mass and momentum.

This action subjects parts of the body to loads that are up to 7 times higher than occur when rowing a boat on the water.

As rowing is a repetitive exercise the body is absorbing these unnaturally higher loads every stroke particularly through the lower back, knees and hip flexors.

The result is a an increased rate of muscular fatigue and greater risk of injury as the body tires.

On a dynamic machine, instead of moving your body mass back and forth, the dynamic frame of the machine which is substantially lighter than your body, moves instead.

Because you aren’t having to accelerate and decelerate your body mass each stroke the load absorbed by the lumbar spine during the drive phase is much lower, and your body does not have to be decelerated at the finish by the hip flexors or by the knees at the catch.
