Why do we need transformational bursaries through the AKS Lytham Foundation?
The mission of the new bursary appeal for the AKS Lytham Foundation is simple: We aim to provide life changing opportunities through educational bursaries for talented, local children who might otherwise not be afforded the chance. By investing in their education, we envision not only transforming their lives but also empowering them to be catalysts for positive change in their communities and beyond.
At AKS Lytham, we believe that every child deserves equal opportunities to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. Yet, with only 14 out of 40+ current bursaries covering 75% of fees, the AKS Lytham Foundation aim’s to bridge this gap. Our goal is to offer fullyfunded transformational bursaries from Senior School through to Sixth Form. These bursaries won’t just cover tuition fees; they also ensure all additional expenses are taken care of, giving recipients the support they need to excel and thrive.
Our role, in schools and beyond, is to help young people to thrive in this world and to be influential and compassionate individuals who, in turn, will make an impactful and positive difference. That could be day-today, person-to-person, or, it could be through a grand endeavour that inspires and helps individuals across the globe.
The Change Their World campaign exists for this very reason: we seek to support young people from the local community in harnessing their passion and determination to be changemakers themselves. Whilst our heritage schools, and the AKS Lytham of today, have a long history of providing such support, there remain many individuals for whom it has not been an option. By enabling more transformational bursaries to be awarded, we can bridge the gap and make that mission more of a reality across our community It is at the very core of what we hope for every day.
