Sector 14: Oakland Sector 14 Home Oakland is Pittsburgh’s “Second Downtown,” and constitutes the third largest business district in Pennsylvania after Center City Philadelphia and Downtown Pittsburgh. The bustling streets of Oakland are home to Pittsburgh’s educational and medical institutions, which are world leaders in research and innovation. Though Oakland is home to incredible architectural marvels, students, and top-notch institutions, it is also home to several tight-knit and quaint residential areas that make Oakland a very diverse and unique place. There are several unique business districts throughout Oakland that serve the neighborhoods residents and employees. The greenery of Schenley Park is easily accessible to Oakland, and the expansive Schenley Plaza is its front door. Transportation connections are abundant, and the entirety of Sector 14 is densely populated and very walkable.
