Welcome Dear Oakbrook Family, As we reflect on this academic year, it brings me great joy to share the remarkable achievements of our community in the 2023-2024 school year. Throughout the year, our students, from K3 through 12th graders, have consistently demonstrated the values that define Oakbrook Preparatory School – Christian character, academic excellence, community, diversity, and creativity. Their accomplishments, both academically and in various extracurricular pursuits, stand as a testament to the dedication and enthusiasm that permeates our school.

I am thrilled to share our Annual Report, shining a light on the remarkable achievements at Oakbrook in the past year. It fills me with immense joy to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our students and acknowledge the collaborative efforts of our exceptional faculty and staff.

I am also honored to unveil the 2024-2025 Strategic Initiatives — a roadmap that envisions the future trajectory of our school. The guiding theme for our strategic endeavors is "Rooted in Faith." 2023-2024 Highlights We are thrilled to highlight the significant achievements and positive developments that have shaped Oakbrook during the academic year 2023-2024. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we've made substantial improvements in campus security, revamped the lower school library, received prestigious awards, and introduced innovative educational initiatives. Here's a breakdown of some key highlights: Enhanced Security and Campus Upgrades: Cutting-edge lightning detection system implementation.

More than half of our faculty hold graduate degrees, with many having won "teacher of the year," have lived abroad, and bring a wealth of experience to their teaching.

Class of 2024 Achievements: 100% of Class of 2024 has applied to a minimum of one college and are currently receiving acceptances.

2024-2029 Strategic Initiatives Oakbrook Preparatory School is excited to unveil its comprehensive 5-Year Strategic Initiatives (2024-2029), a result of a yearlong effort that involved collecting feedback through one-to-one meetings, committees, surveys, and input from teachers, students, and parents. The strategic initiatives are designed to guide the school in its mission to provide a holistic and faith-based education. These initiatives focus on five key areas that will shape the school's trajectory over the next five years.

1. Rooted in Faith: Enhance Christian identity through increased awareness, comprehensive mission review, faith integration in curriculum, chapel service revisions, and intentional Bible class sequences.

2. Academic Excellence: Maintain small class sizes, rigorous curriculum, and personalized attention. Strategies include curriculum reviews, faculty collaboration, and expanding opportunities for all learners with additional tutoring and a writing lab.

3. Building for the Future: Ensure long-term sustainability and growth by establishing an endowment, launching a capital campaign, conducting a feasibility study, and enhancing student recruitment efforts.

Ensure the effective integration of a Christian worldview in all subjects by reviewing the curriculum, providing clear guidelines and resources for teachers to incorporate faith-based perspectives and values into their lessons, and implementing a monitoring system to assess the extent of faith integration in the classroom and gather feedback from students, parents, and teachers.

Continue Lower School Curriculum to flow seamlessly into middle school. Our rigorous ELA and math programs, along with our rich hands-on science, history and arts provide opportunities for exploration and learning.

Ensure that every student is performing at or above grade level in all core academic subjects through targeted interventions, differentiated instruction, collaborative team approach, parent involvement, and ongoing professional development.

Continuously monitor student outcomes in both classrooms and schoolwide and identify areas for growth by analyzing data on student performance, and utilizing the findings to inform instructional practices and targeted interventions.

Maintain the latest classroom resources and educational technology by regularly assessing the needs of classrooms, allocating resources for technology upgrades and instructional materials, and providing professional development opportunities for teachers to effectively utilize these resources.

Evaluate the Bridges Program to meet the needs of all learners by establishing a writing lab and tutoring center, implementing differentiated instructional strategies, and providing additional resources and support services to ensure the academic success of students with learning needs.

Increase opportunities for faculty collaboration to ensure intentional design, adherence to the Charlotte Mason philosophy, and continuous evaluation of learning activities by increasing regular collaborative planning sessions, providing professional development on instructional design and assessment, and implementing feedback loops to improve instructional effectiveness.

Establish the Oakbrook Endowment with a focus on fundraising and a commitment to long term financial strength of the school.

Launch a capital campaign to raise funds for future growth, specifically the construction of a new lower school building.

Groundwork began this year by upgrading our annual financial review to an annual audit in preparation for potential JEDA Bond funding. Our financial strength and stability helps gain donors for a capital campaign and a strong foundation for any financing requirements.

Conduct a feasibility study to determine the best use of additional land and plan for future growth by gathering input from stakeholders, analyzing market trends, and developing a strategic plan based on the study's findings. Study will include any new facilities (needs and costs).

Enhance student recruitment efforts and bolster retention by leveraging the school's unique value proposition, developing targeted marketing campaigns, implementing retention strategies such as student support programs and parent engagement initiatives, and continuously evaluating and improving the educational experience to encourage students to stay.

Review the current academic and athletic branding by conducting a comprehensive brand audit, gathering feedback from stakeholders, and developing a refreshed and cohesive branding strategy that aligns with the school's values and resonates with the target audience.

Create plans for expanding multifunctional spaces, arts facilities, and outdoor learning spaces as enrollment grows by conducting a needs assessment, collaborating with architects and designers, developing a budget and timeline, and seeking necessary approvals for construction or renovation projects.

Create a succession plan for future retirements and staff changes by identifying key positions, assessing internal talent, developing training and development programs, and establishing a process for smooth transitions and knowledge transfer.

Recruit and retain high-quality faculty focused on teaching and mentoring by developing a targeted recruitment strategy, conducting thorough candidate evaluations and interviews, offering competitive compensation and benefits, and implementing retention programs such as mentorship programs and career advancement opportunities.
