Inverted overprints of the 2nd edition From the numbers 28-72 inverted overprints are known. The number inverted is however extremely low and may vary between only one for no. 72 and 17 for no. 33. Needless to say they are very rare and much sought after. Also 3 copies exist of wine revenue stamp number118

No more then 3 are reported to exist of each item.

Forged overprints 2nd edition Several forgeries are known. The most common is the one referred to as the “Budapest forgery”. This is a poorly done overprint carried out by a rubber handstamp whilst for the original ones typographic printing is used. Size of letters and numerals differ from the genuine ones (fig 1). An other even more poorly done does not show any numerals or only “00”. They are very recognizable. (fig 2) Some more forgeries are known, but rather rare. As stated before , only buy your stamps from a reputable source and when in doubt consult an expert.
