Lasdon Park Summer Activities

Looking to spend some fun time with friends and family, then you will want to visit Lasdon Park Arboretum & Veterans Memorial located in Katonah, N.Y. This beautiful and scenic park already has a list of events planned for both adults and children

11 is their Plant & Paint workshops, with sessions for both children and adults at different times. Children 6 and up can design and paint their own terracotta pot and will be given a plant to insert inside of it. The adult session will let guests create a pot that

learn a few painting techniques to make their work of art more special. All participants will be given a plant to take home in their new creation. The fee is $20 per person and all supplies, and light refreshments are included.

Pre registration is required. To encourage children to become interested and excited about gardens, planting and nature, a child friendly event called Create Your Own Dinosaur Garden is set for June 17th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and a second session from 1:30 – 3:30 pm. Children 5 – 8 years old will love creating their very own miniature dinosaur landscape in a dish. The fun starts with an entertaining tour of the Lasdon Dinosaur Garden hosted with Parks Curator Gigi Carnes. Afterwards, children will create their own prehistoric garden using succulent plants and prehistoric creatures to make their miniature gardens come to life. The fee is $15.00 per child.
