Tips to help you pay for ARESTIN®. At Beacon Dental, PC we have developed a pay-once delivery fee for lifetime. For patients with medical insurance coverage If you have prescription coverage through your medical insurance, you may be able to receive ARESTIN® through ARESTIN® Rx Access. Below is how it works: 1. Your dental office will submit a prescription to be filled. 2. You’ll receive a phone call from a reimbursement counselor about your coverage of ARESTIN® and the amount of your co-pay, if any. 3. You’ll need to pay your co-pay at this time. 4. Once your co-pay is paid, your ARESTIN® will be shipped to your dental office for your next visit. ARESTIN® Rx Access may help reduce your out-of-pocket costs.

Advanced Non-Surgical Periodontal Treatment According to the ADA (American Dental Association), approximately 75% of the adults in the United States are affected by some form of periodontal disease (gum disease), including gingivitis. Gum Disease is the #1 cause of tooth loss. It can go unnoticed and worsen for many years. Only the doctor or the hygienists can diagnose the disease in the early stages. Early treatment and long term care can help prevent tooth loss. Gum disease is an infection caused by bacteria that gets under the gum tissue and begins to destroy the gums and bone. The bad breath from gum disease also will affect you socially, something most people don’t realize themselves. In the later stages, teeth become loose, chewing becomes difficult, and teeth may have to be extracted. Gum disease also may be connected to damage elsewhere in the body. Recent studies link oral infections with diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and premature, low-weight births. At Beacon Dental, PC, we treat gum disease with early diagnosis, home care instructions, scaling and root planing. The antibiotic, Arestin®, is a locally administered powder that your hygienist places directly into the infected area or pockets in your gum. It is part of a combined treatment with scaling and root planing as well as perio maintenance. The results of this treatment, after many years of care and follow-ups, have proven to be effective.
