DOWN UNDER THE MANHATTAN BRIDGE OVERPASS

Dumbo, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is one of Brooklyn's most visited neighborhoods, attracting visitors with its cobblestone streets, dramatic architecture, great dining and dreamy views across the river. There are plenty of outdoor spaces for stretching out, and shops and art galleries for poking around indoors.*

THE DUMBO ARCHWAY
In Dumbo, you get all there is to love about this City – in an atmosphere where you can truly enjoy it. Cobblestone charm, bright open skies, leafy parks, theater, artist studios, indie businesses, a tight-knit community and yes – those iconic views, inspiring creativity every day.
One of the iconic places in DUMBO is the Dumbo Archway. The Dumbo Archway – under the Manhattan Bridge – is a spectacular plaza, and one of New York City’s most unique public spaces. Today, it is a civic town center for the neighborhood – a beloved gathering place for the community and culture seekers alike.*

DUMBO FIELD TRIP: WASHINGTON STREET

At NYEA, we believe that learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. One of our recent field trips took place in Washing Street between Front and Water Streets. People flock to Washington Street between Front and Water Streets to capture a shot that features Dumbo’s cobblestone streets, the Manhattan Bridge and the Empire State Building. You’re almost certain to see other visitors taking the same photograph making it sort of a meta -attraction.*

plenty of opportunities for you to connect with the animals you love. Whether you want to watch the bison graze, or hear from the experts during a keeper chat, you’ll be quite pleased.
From tiny toads to big cats, there are more than 11,000 animals at the Bronx Zoo. Plan a visit to see your favorite member of the animal kingdom and meet some new ones along the way!

At NYEA, we know that our students have their own unique interests: while some students might prefer a night out on Broadway, others might find outdoor and nature activities more appealing. Luckily, the Bronx Zoo features several species housed in over 250 acres of natural beauty. Our students got a chance to see their favorite animals as well as the opportunity to see a more natural side of NYC!
