DIVISION 24 - OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

Lieutenant Governor's Greeting Hi Key Clubbers!! Happy October! I hope the school year is going well for everyone, it seems like the first month of school flew by! ERFs are past due, but please still turn them in. If you haven’t completed your club elections yet, that should be your club's top priority. If you have completed your elections, have your club's president fill out the ERF as soon as possible. The September MRF is also due this month. The deadline has been extended to October 12th so be sure to have your secretary fill it out. As always, please also turn in any late paperwork your club forgot to submit. It’s better late than never! Back-to-School season is here and it’s the most important time to gain new members! Be sure to advertise your meetings and service events to all of the students in your school and send out reminders. Tell new members and anyone interested the benefits of joining Key Club (helping those in your community, meeting amazing new people, learning leadership skills, and so much more). Also, reach out to freshmen in your school, they will be your club's leaders in the coming years. I hope everyone has an amazing rest of the month, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the newsletter!

Yours in Service, Anna Scott Division 24 Lieutenant Governor

Past Events - Service Spotlight Carthage High School (Division 24) On Sunday, September 25 the Carthage Key Club held a car wash at Aubuchon Hardware to help support the district project, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a charity that is dedicated to fighting childhood cancer. We raised over $1,000 and had 25 volunteers helping wash cars! It was so exciting to see how many new people showed up to help, and how many members of the community came to support us. Some volunteers held up signs to get people interested, some collected donations, and everybody else washed cars. It was one of the most profitable events that we have done, and we are planning to have another one in spring. Car washes are one of the best ways to collect for a cause, and bring club members closer together, and our car wash was no different. With over $1,000 collected and new bonds formed between members, this was definitely an extremely successful event. Written by: Becky Steiner, President of Carthage Key Club

Past Events - Service Spotlights Ticonderoga High School (Division 14)

Ticonderoga Sentinel’s Snack Shack helps feed hungry crowds at Friday night football games. Key Club members help design menus, prepare food, and offer friendly service to the community. Key Club members make sanitary service a first priority by wearing gloves, masks, and selling pre-packaged food only. By helping volunteer, you can not only enjoy a great view of the game, but participate in fulfilling community service and create friendships with others. A special thanks to Haley Sutphen, Sofie Hubbard, Audrey Cook, Irelan Porter, Eliza Strum, Chloe Baker, Trevor Blanchard, Derrick Oiser, Alyssa Mydlarz, Kim Wojick, and more for their help! Written by: Hannah Porter, Secretary of Ticonderoga Key Club
