Indigenization Charter North West College commits to:

Advancing Indigenous students’ access to/engagement with the College’s faculty, staff, and job partners for the purpose of increased employment opportunities.

Facilitating mentorship for Indigenous students through partnerships with Indigenous alumni and industry professionals.

Expanding engagements between the College and families of Indigenous students. Expanding hiring, retention and mentorship of Indigenous peoples, and advancing Indigenous knowledge for all employees, service providers and volunteers at the College.

Making recommendations to the Ministry of Advanced Education to expand decision spaces for Indigenous and student voices on the Board of Governors.

Advancing Indigenous student’s knowledge of/access to scholarships and other funding opportunities to help support students’ financial obligations.

Evaluating this charter every three years in collaboration with Indigenous community members.

Providing more spaces for Indigenous students to express their cultures and worldviews.

Enhancing partnerships with non-profit organizations who could provide transportation and childcare services to Indigenous students at the college.

Advocating for increased student assessment options used by instructors in order to accommodate different learning paces and styles, and to promote increased participation from Indigenous students.
