Steps to fund your education 1 Apply early for scholarships Our scholarship application for the 2018-2019 academic school year will be available from December 1, 2017, through March 1, 2018 and features one online application for all our scholarships. Our scholarship software will determine which scholarship(s) a student qualifies to apply, maximizing your potential for being awarded a scholarship.

SUCCESS COACHING We provide one-on-one success coaching to support students’ academic and social well-being, specifically supporting incoming freshmen. nwacc.edu/careerservices success@nwacc.edu SC 215 TUTORING The Tutoring Center offers free tutoring on a walk-in basis on the Bentonville campus and at the Washington County Center. For hours, locations and more information, visit nwacc.edu/tutoring. BRAINFUSE ONLINE TUTORING NWACC provides free access to an online tutoring service called Brainfuse. You can meet with a live tutor using an online whiteboard and text chat, so no special technology is needed. Tutors are available for many different subjects, including math and science.

CONFIDENTIAL ADVOCATES We provide confidential support for those who have experienced gendered violence, including sexual harassment, dating and intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sexual exploitation. RED FLAG CAMPAIGN The Red Flag Campaign is a Bystander Intervention program that strives to create awareness and provide outreach for issues surrounding domestic/dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault. Transfer Services

TRANSFER INFORMATION To explore academic opportunities and course equivalencies at four-year universities in Arkansas and surrounding states, students can visit the Transfer & Transitions Services website at nwacc.edu/transfer. TRANSFER RECRUITERS & ADVISORS Recruiters from transfer institutions frequently visit the Transfer Information Desk (2nd floor, Student Center) to answer students’ questions. The schedule of transfer visits varies.

Veterans Resource Center

Our mission in the Veteran Resource Center is to help all eligible veterans, dependents, reservists/guardsmen, and disabled veterans (military serviceconnected disabilities) successfully pursue their education through guidance and assistance, regardless of availability of GI Bill education benefits from day one until graduation or transfer. Our one-on-one approach with all veterans and dependents entering our office ensures they have a place they can come to when they need assistance. We have also been nationally recognized as the only two-year college in Arkansas offering outstanding service to our veterans. Writing Center

The Writing Center assists student with the writing process. Students may drop into the Writing Center (BH 1003) to use the computers or for a face-to-face consultation. Students can visit the website to submit a paper for an email consultation or learn how to schedule an appointment for a live, online consultation. Writing workshops are hosted 3 times a week, and students who attend 8 or more sessions will receive an attendance recognition stamp on their transcript. Trying to decide whether or not to attend NWACC? The best visit type for those seeking general information and wanting to learn about the enrollment process is an admissions session. During an admissions session students sit down with and enrollment specialist to discuss the enrollment process, financial aid, degree requirements and more. You are invited to participate in a campus tour immediately following the admission session. The admissions session takes approximately one hour. Held weekly on rotating days. Bentonville First Fridays

Come visit us at the NorthWest Arkansas Community College booth at Bentonville’s monthly First Friday event, where you can obtain information on our programs, the enrollment process, and federal financial aid. Held on the first Friday of every month, Bentonville City Square; 4:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Senior Day

High school seniors who are considering NWACC to have fun and learn more about their interests should attend the annual NWACC Senior Day. High school students will get a chance to talk to faculty and staff from the academic department they are interested in, speak to club advisors, meet current students, learn more about NWACC and see the campus. One student in attendance will win a free class. Lunch will be provided and there is no cost for this event; registration is required. Held in March each year, multiple dates.
