hen I moved into my apartment it was the first time I had ever lived by myself. With nobody to split the rent, utilities, amenities, etc., the easiest money-saving alternative was to forgo getting a TV and cable. My exclusive news source was NPR merrily playing away on my nearly 20 year-old Sony DreamMachine alarm clock. Naturally, it was my responsibility to contribute. While my annual $250 contribution is far less than television and cable, it offers far more in content.
