The CDP programme equipped me with a unique blend of accounting, tax, and public policy expertise. This interdisciplinary foundation empowered me to develop holistic tax policies - first at the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, where I began my career, and subsequently during my secondment at the Ministry of Finance.
Reading law and public policy concurrently at NUS and LKYSPP provided me with a deeper appreciation between laws which are legislated to govern society, and the policymakers’ intent and policymaking processes through which laws are designed and implemented for the betterment of society. This has enabled me to better advise on the rationale and context of laws and policies to my private clients and the non-profit organisations whom I serve in my private legal practice.
As a Social Worker, direct client work is essential to my ideal job. The CDP gave me the flexibility to explore social work and public policy concurrently, enriching my education with both frontline and systemic perspectives. It has made a huge impact in opening the door to my current role, where I am able to practice direct client work alongside the policy, research and evaluation needs of my department.
Students will be charged the prevailing FASS undergraduate fees up to the 8th semester of study and LKYSPP fees thereafter.
