Job Title: Agriculture Program Facilitator (Kenya) Overview: Nuru International’s Agriculture Program Facilitator (PF) will be working in Kenya to implement an agriculture intervention focused on addressing the need of hunger by increasing crop yields. The Nuru Kenya Agriculture Program model is predicated on the tenets of impact, sustainability, and scalability to help rural agricultural communities lift themselves out of extreme poverty. Timeline: Nuru Training in U.S.: May 20-30, 2013 Team in Kenya: June 2013 to June 2015, with breaks Specific Responsibilities Include: • Ensure the Nuru Kenya Agriculture Program is truly sustainable and scalable • Empower local leaders in the Nuru Kenya Agriculture Program to continually take more and more ownership of the program • Achieve pre-determined seasonal goals • Manage the program budget efficiently to meet pre-determined goals • Manage recruiting of new farmers and scale to new communities within the Nuru Kenya Agriculture Program expansion framework • Iterate and innovate on agricultural interventions to meet the needs of Nuru Kenya’s farmers • Help to develop new monitoring tools for the operations and impact of the Nuru Kenya Agriculture Program • Refine existing program metrics to improve accuracy in its reflection of the community poverty level and operational effectiveness Specific Skills and Attributes: • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business or Agriculture, Masters preferred • 2 – 4 years prior experience living and working in the developing world • Minimum 2 years of project management in an international setting • At least 1 – 2 years of creating and sustaining agricultural solutions for the poor • Solid quantitative skills and experience with Excel • High commitment to organization’s mission and theory of change • Strong work ethic • Strong leadership and team building experience • Effective crisis management and rapid, innovative problem solving in uncertain environments To Apply: Please apply online here and upload your resume/ CV and cover letter, outlining how your skills and experience meet the qualifications of the position.
