Job Title: Leadership Program Facilitator (Kenya) Overview: Nuru’s model depends on the organization’s ability to identify, train and collaborate with highly capable local leaders to develop and implement sustainable poverty solutions. Nuru’s leadership program is designed to create an environment where local leaders recognize and develop their ability to critically analyze and successfully develop effective poverty solutions in constantly changing circumstances. Timeline: Nuru Training in U.S.: May 20-30, 2013 Team in Kenya: June 2013 to June 2015, with breaks Specific Responsibilities Include: • Co-develop leadership training materials to meet immediate and future training needs in the project with local training team under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager • Translate Nuru’s development philosophy and methodology to the operations on the ground; Ensure that training activities are consistent with this philosophy • Monitor progress and evaluate impact of program activities with the Monitoring and Evaluation team using identified indicators • Track progress toward meeting program goals and Leadership Indicators • Make strategic and tactical recommendations for improvements and changes to training content, methodology, and framework • Mentor and train Training Team (District Manager, Zonal Managers, and Field Managers) to develop their capacity as training facilitators and curriculum developers • Mentor and train District Manager to develop their capacity to run the program and manage the program team • Achieve pre-determined program goals • Manage program budget efficiently under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager • Collaborate effectively with Senior Leadership Program Manager • Collaborate effectively with the Foundation Team and the local staff Specific Skills and Attributes: • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, or Education, Masters degree preferred • 2 – 4 years prior experience living and working in the developing world, with at least 2 – 3 years of experience in training and/or teaching • Understanding of servant-leadership concept • Deep understanding and commitment to the Leadership Program’s training philosophy and methodology • Experience in writing curriculum • Knowledge of how to assess learning • High commitment to organization’s mission and theory of change • Strong leadership and team building experience • Ability to do crisis management and rapid, innovative problem solving in uncertain environments • Experienced in managing people and supporting them to meet their goals • Strong project management and communication skills To Apply: Please apply online here and upload your resume/ CV and cover letter, outlining how your skills and experience meet the qualifications of the position.
