At Nuneaton Rugby, we take immense pride in our rich history, which dates back to our foundation in 1879. Over the years, we have competed at the highest levels of grassroots rugby, and our 1st XV currently participate in the Regional 1 Midlands league, after a successful promotion campaign in the 23/24 season. Our Colts team had a successful season in 2024, while our Saxons (2nd XV) have entered the RFU league structure for the first time, competing at level 9. In addition, we successfully relaunched our Nuneaton Academy (15-18 year olds) in 2023 and our Saracens (Vets & Social). The Saracens played their first game in 7 years and are now participating in regular matches in the Warwickshire merit leagues.
Beyond our senior teams, we have a flourishing M & J (Mini and Junior) section and a growing Ladies team. Our M & J section is comprised of over 300 players aged 4-18, including girls upto U11s offering female players the opportunity to take their initial steps in rugby. Our expanding ladies section offers a platform for players to continue or begin their rugby journey. Inclusivity and equality is at the heart of our values, and we also offer social touch rugby, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage in the sport they love.

Our Ladies section is currently competing in the Midlands Ladies Touch League, competing in regular tournaments throughout the summer, with the league growing every year. Each year the Nuns host one of the Midlands Ladies Touch League Tournaments. Touch rugby, a non-contact variation of the game, offers a safe and inclusive avenue for the club to expand its offerings and attract even more participants. By embracing this accessible version of the sport, the club can foster a welcoming environment that encourages women of all backgrounds to engage in rugby and experience the excitement it has to offer. We hope to offer full contact rugby at the club in the future as the numbers continue to grow, with a number of our current squad expressing interest in this.
