Observation 1

From the floor plan itself, it shown that the layout was very rectengular and also symetric design without using any irregular shape. The open space style also applied in the design so it could bring the wide space, so the user inside can occupant with just nice and not too narrow.

Based on the interior, the designer used a huge big glass wall that covered along the house. From the study, the purpose of placing the idea of glass is too create the natural ambience inside and also it is illusion of making the space in the interior to look more wide.

In this investigation, it can be seems that the placement of building was surrounded by a lot of landscape elements. Based on the designer, the landscape elements are important to be used as natural sun shading and also provide a good air supply to give more breathing for people living in there.

Observation 4

The facade and materials are mostly using steel. The designer use timber cladding so it could blend with the surrounding natural element. While interior, the floor is using concrete that might be suitable for United States climate.

THE GODOWN, KUALA LUMPUR

THE GODOWN ARE AN ARTS SPACE AND WORKSHOP LOCATED IN THE CENTRE OF KUALA LUMPUR, TUCKED AWAY AND NESTLED WITHIN LORONG AMPANG. THE SPACE CONSISTS OF TWO CONTRASTING BUILDINGS, THE MAIN HALL WHICH WAS A ‘GUDANG' (WAREHOUSE) WITH A HISTORY OF OVER 100 YEARS. ALSO, THE GODOWN FOCUSES ON THE ARTS AND ARCHITECTURE BUT WILL OFFER THE AUDIENCE A WIDE RANGE OF EXPERIENCES, INCLUDING EXHIBITIONS, PERFORMANCES, WORKSHOPS AND MORE. THE GODOWN AIMS TO BE A SPACE FOR PEOPLE TO CONGREGATE, COLLABORATE, CHALLENGE, EXPLORE AND SHARE.

WITH INVESTIGATION OF THE BUILDING, IT CAN BE IMPORTANT FOR THE CASE STUDY OR REFERENCE ON HOW TO ATTRACT THE PUBLIC USER TO COME ON APPRECIATE EXHIBITION SERVICES WHILE ATTRACT THEM WITH PROVIDE SOME ACTIVITIES SPACE.
