Postgraduate applicant journey for International Students

APPLICATION STAGE

1. Submit an application directly

2. Prepare your portfolio

You can find the application form on our website or by emailing international@nua.ac.uk. If you are unsure about the entry requirements from your country or qualification type, you can get in touch with us before you submit an application.

We will ask to see your digital portfolio and may ask for other documentation such as your passport photo page, academic and English qualifications.

You will receive a decision within five working days via email.

Interviews are a two way process! We get to know you; you get to know us. Don’t forget, an interview is your chance to ask questions too!

We’ll book a mutually convenient time to interview you via skype or in person.

You should make your decision by emailing us directly. Let us know even if you decide to decline your offer so that we can reallocate your place to another applicant.

If there are English conditions attached to your offer, you will need to book an IELTS test at an approved SELT centre.

9. Complete pre-enrolment

If you have a conditional offer, send us the academic and/ English qualification outlined in your offer to us as soon as it’s available. You can email information to international@nua.ac.uk

The portal will provide information about finding suitable private housing.

By the end of April you will gain access to our pre-enrolment portal where we can confirm your fee status among other things.

6. International scholarships International students are eligible for our scholarships. You must submit the declaration form and apply by the deadline of 23 May.

Most international students will need to apply for a Tier 4 student visa. You can only apply once you have an unconditional offer and no earlier than 3 months before the start of the course.

International students need to pay a £2,500 deposit in order to obtain a Tier 4 visa. You will need to make the full payment by 30 August.

Once you have your visa you can book flights and make travel arrangements. The International Office will send you practical information about moving to the UK.

15. Welcome Before the first week of term there will be an International Students Arrivals Lounge which you are welcome to attend.
