Welcome to our funniest and most eclectic festival line-up yet! Hello and welcome to the 2019 Aberdeen International Comedy Festival the third largest of its kind in Scotland and the North East’s biggest celebration of comedy. Now in our fourth year we are really excited about this year’s line-up and are thrilled to be bringing the best international, national and local comedians to the city for you to enjoy over the 11 day festival. We have big names like Ben Elton, who’s making his eagerly anticipated return to stand-up, Scottish superstar Daniel Sloss who at just 28 now has two Netflix specials to his name and some of the hottest rising stars like Bathgate’s very own Fern Brady. New Yorker Desiree Burch and ‘Irish Australian’ Jimeoin also join us this year, making the line-up truly international. The festival is just one of many fabulous projects that Aberdeen Inspired delivers in our great city. As a not for profit business improvement district, our team work tirelessly to make Aberdeen City Centre a great place to work, play and stay! This year we are delighted to have Mental Health Aberdeen as our charity partner. They provide invaluable support to people experiencing difficulties related to their mental health and wellbeing. Opening Show! More than 30 years ago, Ben Elton exploded into the national consciousness hosting Channel 4’s ground breaking Saturday Live. Now after a 15 year absence, the Godfather of modern stand-up returns to the medium he did so much to define. Ben promises to try and make sense of a world which appears to have gone stark raving mad. As Ben says: “The last time I toured I was still smarter than my phone. John Finnemore’s Flying Visit Sun 6 October 7.30pm John Finnemore, writer and star of multi-award winning BBC Radio shows “John Finnemore’s Souvenir Programme”, “Cabin Pressure” and “John Finnemore’s Double Acts” brings his show to the stage! Gary Meikle: The iBrow Guy Wed 9 October 8pm Scottish comedy award winner and viral sensation Gary Meikle brings the iBrow Guy, to the people as part of his semipermanent tour! He’ll guide us through eyebrow etiquette, logic, laws and how it’s changed his life as he’ll now forevermore be known as the eyebrow guy. Gary will lay before you his remarkable life story about how he’s survived a troubled childhood to defy the odds, raised a daughter without her mother and became a granddad all before he was 40! Harriet Kemsley: Slutty Joan Wed 9 October 8pm Following a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2018, multi awardwinning comic Harriet Kemsley pulls her skirt out of her pants and shames slut shaming in a nationwide tour. Ticket information and collections Your tickets are precious, treat them like cash! Please put them in a safe place, as lost or stolen tickets cannot be replaced. Once purchased tickets are non-refundable. It’s best to buy your tickets in advance, however if there are any unsold tickets these will be available for purchase (cash only) at the festival venue 30 minutes ahead of the show start time. The prices advertised include all fees and charges – the only extra charge we ask for is to cover postage costs if you want your tickets to be sent to you. You can collect tickets from any Aberdeen Performing Arts box office at the Music Hall, His Majesty’s Theatre and Lemon Tree from 9:30am Monday – Saturday until 2 hours before the show start time. After this all uncollected tickets will be available for collection at the festival venue 30 minutes ahead of the show start time. This year we are also offering you the free and easy option to print your tickets at home. Please note ID may be required to be shown with print at home ticket purchases.

General Information Want a good seat? Then it’s best to turn up early as seats are unreserved (unless otherwise stated on your ticket). Please bring ID for entry to venues with an over 18 licence and in case of any ticketing queries. We have made every effort to give age appropriate guidance for all festival shows however Aberdeen Inspired cannot take any responsibility for the content of performances. Sometimes show line-ups change and where possible we will advise you in advance. Please be respectful to others in the audience as we’d hate to have to ask you to leave and note that photography, sound and video recording are not allowed during any performance.
